In Hyderabad, India, local changemakers are taking practical steps to make their communities more sustainable: installing air purifiers, and using biodigesters to turn food waste into fuel.

These projects are supported by our first community fund in India, the ServiceNow Community Improvement Fund in Hyderabad.

In collaboration with social innovator Nirmaan Organization, communities are bringing proven, high-impact climate ideas to life.

Seven community projects received funding, and more than 3,570 people across Hyderabad have been positively impacted so far. Three local community biodigester projects are diverting food waste from landfill, and four schools have installed air purifiers. At one school, GHS Sanathnagar (pictured), new air purifiers cut indoor air pollution by almost 60%.

Since launching in 2023, our sustainability-focused collaboration with ServiceNow has supported more than 80 community projects across 11 countries.

From beach clean-ups to classroom solar projects, communities in Busan, South Korea are showing what local action on sustainability looks like in practice.

Last year, we launched in South Korea for the first time. Our first community fund there — the Microsoft Sustainability Program in Busan — supported 10 local projects, positively impacting more than 3,500 people so far.

But there's a broader story behind the numbers. These projects sparked conversations about the local environment, deepened understanding of sustainability issues, and created a greater sense of connection and belonging.

New funding opportunity for community climate projects!

Together with ServiceNow, we’re supporting communities to take action on climate challenges, with funding now available in Costa Rica, Germany, Ireland and the UK. The 2026 ServiceNow Community Improvement Fund is now accepting applications!

Non-profits and schools can apply for funding to:
* start their own project
OR
* bring a proven, high-impact climate idea from social innovators Precious Plastic Community, Ecosystem Restoration Communities and Solar Bildung to their community.

From regenerative agroforestry on coffee farms in Costa Rica to solar projects in Germany, communities are already creating real impact. Since 2023, this collaboration has supported more than 80 community projects across 11 countries.

Big news! 🎉 The ChangeX platform is now live in Thailand and Malaysia, as we continue our partnership with Google.

We’re working together to empower communities to take action on what matters most locally, building stronger, more sustainable communities and expanding access to the knowledge and skills people need to thrive.

New community funds are now accepting applications in Thailand and Malaysia to support local community-led projects aligned with Google’s skilling and sustainability priorities.

ChangeX and Apple are collaborating to empower local communities to lead sustainability initiatives.

By combining ChangeX’s community engagement platform with Apple’s commitment to environmental stewardship, this collaboration creates a foundation for grassroots action across Brazil.

As a first step, we’re launching the Brazil Community Empowerment Fund, now open for applications within the states of Bahia, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Roraima and within the cities of Brasilia, Campinas, Curitiba, Fortaleza, Manaus, Porto Alegre, Recife, Rio de Janeiro & São Paulo.
