The owner of Tim & Tess asked us to find them a new home. Why? Because he acquired a Shepherd pup who has since developed an unhealthy obsession for the two cats which has turned into a high risk situation - someone's gonna get hurt!😢

These three are coming up for adoption very soon. DOB May 05th, 2026. Fully vaccinated, microchipped, and treated for parasites. 🦠

They were born into a family home and are now in foster care with a family and getting used to household noises and children.

‼️URGENT‼️ SEEKING B&B ACCOMMODATION UNTIL Monday August 31st, 2026.

This Lurcher was found today (August 29th, 2026) in Drogheda. The finder cannot hold and we need to find B&B accommodation until Monday when the dog pound re-opens.

Can anyone please help 🙏? As you know,, we are homeless without a rescue centre to give this poor dog a place to stay.

Little Miss Sunshine went to her forever home yesterday and is already settling in nicely. Thank you Rachel for adopting another DAR cat. All three of these kittens are now in really great homes. Thanks you to all of you.
UPDATE: Little Miss Sunshine is still looking for her forever home. Sunny Boy went to his new home on Friday and is settling in very nicely with his lovely new family. Rainman is busy packing his bags to go to his new home on Wednesday. That just leaves the lovely Little Miss Sunshine all on her own.

Introducing these fabulous three youngsters. They were part of a TNR job that DAR helped with in Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan. They are now 6 months old.
🌟 My name is Sunny Boy
I am the boss of the family. I'm a very friendly, playful, confident boy. I love lying in the sun and my favourite food is tuna. I'm a purring machine and I can't wait to find my new home.
🌟 My name is Rainman. I'm not as confident as my bossy brother 😀. I can be a little unsure of myself in new situations but like my brother, I am also a purring machine. I love lying on a soft sofa and my favourite food is chicken. I'm looking for a home that will give me time to find my paws 💗
🌟 Last but definitely not least. My name is little Miss Sunshine. I'm the only girl in my family and I'm a super shy little one. I'm looking for a special home that understands that I need loads of encouragement and time to settle in. I love sitting quietly and watching the world go by and my favourite food is sardines. Like my brothers, I am a purring machine also.

SURRENDERED COLLIEX PUPS - Another case of irresponsible dog ownership 😡 and THE ART OF PASSING IT ON ...

What do you expect to happen when you've an un-neutered dog and an un-neutered bitch⁉️ There is no excuse in this day and age to let this situation happen.

These three pups were brought into the veterinary hospital as they were sick - diarrhoea and the sorts. They needed to be treated and put into isolation. This places a tremendous burden on veterinary staff and a very busy veterinary hospital but they only wanted the best for the pups, so they had to get creative to accommodate them.

THE BOTTOM LINE HERE is that we agreed to take them into our care, but we too are struggling with an incredible number of animals in our care. WE NEED HELP‼️

The two pups were released from hospital on Friday Aug 28th, and the single pup is still in hospital with staff keeping a watchful eye over the pup.

All have tested negative for the deadly parvovirus but we cannot let our guard down.

We are looking for a foster home for the pups where they will be able to be isolated from any other animals or a foster home with no other animals. DROGHEDA or NEAR SURROUNDING AREAS ONLY - They need to be close to their vet.

IN MEMORY OF ALAN MCELWAINE and a VERY BIG THANK YOU for such a generous donation to DAR from his Family & Friends

DAR was asked by Alan for help rehoming his dog Brian, an (11) year old Springer Spaniel, as both Alan and his wife Verna were no longer able to give Brian the time & exercise an active Springer needs.

DAR Volunteer Sharon took on the task of finding Brian a new home. Alan was very grateful for Sharon's efforts, and for the kindness & understanding she showed to the family during a very sad time of having to rehome their beloved dog.

Sadly, on July 18th, 2026, Alan passed away. DAR Volunteer Sharon had only been speaking to Alan two-hours before he passed away, giving him an update on Brian's new home.

Alan's family & friends were so touched and grateful for DAR's help with rehoming Brian the Spaniel, they donated €105 on July 24th, and another €500 in lieu of flowers on August 21st.

We are very appreciative for the generosity shown by the McElwaine's family & friends especially during such a sad time. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. 🙏

Rest in Peace Dear Alan. We will make sure that Brian will always be well taken care of. ❤️

LUCY & HER KITTEN BUG - GET A NEW HOME - TOGETHER! 🩷🖤

We were getting worried as there was no interest in these two and we really wanted to keep them together - Lucy the Slender & Sleek Donsky Spynx X and her little black kitten Bug.

But, the stars 🌟 shone down on us, and on Wednesday August 26th, these two were adopted by a lovely couple Aoife & Liam who reported that the two are settling in just fine.

Moments like this make what we do all the more worthwhile. 😊

Have a wonderful life Lucy & Bug - the most dramatic duo we have ever met, but we wouldn't have it any other way. 😅
