Unfortunately, we have more sad news to share. 💔

Sadly we have lost another one of our beloved residents, Helena. ❤️

Helena passed away suddenly but peacefully, in the care of our colleagues in Letterkenny University Hospital.

Helena was a quiet, gentle lady who went about her business quietly, but she was truly part of the family here.

Helena struggled with her health but tried to keep active as best she could never missed her exercise class she enjoyed the movement and the quiet company. Helena had recently started to really enjoy the social elements to life here.

She will be so fondly remembered and missed by all here. We offer our most sincere condolences to Helena’s family and friends at this very sad time.💔

May she rest in peace.

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our dear resident Maureen McLaughlin, aged 97 years. 🤍

Maureen passed away peacefully in the wonderful care of our devoted staff who cared for her dearly over the past few years ❤️

Maureen first came to live with us in our sheltered housing in 2018 and moved to the HSU in 2023. In that time she became such a special part of life here in Clonmany.

When her health allowed, Maureen was an active member of our community. Daily Mass, followed by dinner in the dining room, a chat with friends and of course a game of bingo — that was Maureen’s perfect day.

She enjoyed many outings with us over the years and truly lived life to the full.Her standards were high and she certainly kept us on our toes! 😊 We will miss her wonderful character so much.

We offer our sincere condolences to her beloved daughters Marie and Lorraine and their families at this sad time.

Maureen has left her mark here on all of us and she showed us how to live life right to the end. She battled till the very last, and we hope she is now resting in peace.❤️

A huge and heartfelt thank you to Clonmany Festival Commitee for their incredibly generous donation and for their wonderful support ❤️

As a voluntary ran organisation ourselves we know only too well the amount of time, effort, planning and dedication that goes on behind the scenes to make an event like Clonmany Festival such a success. So much of the work for such events happens behind the scenes and often goes unseen. It takes a fantastic team of people giving their time and engery to make it all happen 🤗

We really want to applaud the committee for the amazing work they do for the community 🤗

Thank you to everyone involved in the Clonmany Festival. Your support is greatly appreciated and we truly appreciate your kindness. We are very lucky to have the support of such wonderful community spirited people 🥰

It is with very heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of Kathleen McGinley, who has been a Resident of Sheltered Housing for almost three years. Kathleen passed away peacefully in the care of our Colleagues in Letterkenny University Hospital. 💔

Kathleen was a truly lovely lady, full of fun, laughter and a great bit of craic. She certainly knew how to enjoy herself and never wanted to miss out on anything! If there was an outing and a bus going, you could be pretty sure Kathleen would be on it. 🚌😊

Kathleen visited the HSU every day, officially for her eye drops… although we’re fairly certain the real reason was the company, the activities and, of course, the fun! 😂 She was also known for appearing at just the right time to “join” a HSU trip, exercise class or activity.😂 And no matter where she was going, Kathleen was always beautifully prepared her hair was always looking as though she had just stepped out of the hairdressers. 💇‍♀️❤️

Being partially sighted never stopped Kathleen from getting involved. She always had a companion by her side to keep her right, and together they made sure she never missed out on the fun. She was a familiar and much-loved face at our activities, and she was always first to the ice cream van! 🍦😄

Kathleen brought so much warmth, laughter and personality wherever she went. She will be deeply missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her, but we will remember her with smiles, laughter and countless happy memories.

We offer our sincere condolences to Kathleen’s family and friends .❤️

Death Notice : Kathleen Devlin

14th September 2026

The peaceful death has taken place at her home of Kathleen Devlin, Boharna, Clonmany, surrounded by her loving family.

Beloved wife of the late Mack,
Predeceased by her parents Denis and Susan.
Much loved Mother of Susanna (Michael), Denis (Róisín), Michael, Arthur (Sharon), Eileen (James), John, Mary (Eamonn) and the late Brian and Kathleen (Jimmy).
Will be sadly missed by her devoted Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.
Beloved sister of Mary and the late Denis and John.

Kathleen will repose at her home from 4pm today. A one way system will be in operation.

Family time please from 10pm till 11am.

Funeral leaving from there on Wednesday 16th September at 10.20am, going to St Mary's Church, Clonmany for requiem Mass at 11am, with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Family flowers only please, donations in lieu if desired to Saint Collumbcille Village & Ard Aoibhinn, Carndonagh, co any family member or Comiskey Funeral Directors.

Kathleen will be sadly missed by her family and friends and all who knew her.
Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on her soul, Lady of Knock pray for her.
