Remembering Scannáin Dobharchú 1992 - 2022
(In aid of Donegal Cancer Flights and Services)

Cartlann TG4 will launch the showreel Súil Siar ar Scannáin Dobharchú 1992 - 2022 in Amharclann Ghaoth Dobhair on Thursday 20th August to commemorate the work of the television producer Máirín Seoighe who passed away in 2022. For almost thirty years, through her production company Scannáin Dobharchú, Máirín produced a vast range of acclaimed series and documentaries for TG4. These included the series Ceol Cois Locha, Ceol na nOileán, Flosc, Imircigh Ban and Labhair Linn, and individual programmes such as Frankie, Clann as Dobhar, An Swilly, Mo Honda Beag Dearg and Mo High Nelly Álainn.

In addition to the showreel, there will be a screening of excerpts from the programme Clann as Dobhar about the internationally renowned group Clannad and highlights from Ceol Cois Locha which was filmed in Ionad Cois Locha in the 1990s.

The event will commence at 6.45 pm and all are welcome. Donations to Donegal Cancer Flights and Services will be gratefully accepted.

Inniu an lá… Today is the day.

Today, the former Donegal to Dublin PSO flight schedule, including the vital afternoon flight, is being restored, a hugely important day for Donegal and for all who depend on this lifeline service.

A sincere well done and thank you to everyone who supported us at Donegal Cancer Flights & Services throughout this campaign: patients, families, volunteers, petition signers, public representatives, community groups, local media, airport staff and all who helped keep the pressure on.

This was always about people. It was about access, dignity, and ensuring that Donegal patients can get to the care they need.

Donegal stood together, and today, Donegal sees the result. ✈️💛
