🇮🇪 4th Kildare Town Scout Group – Germany 2026 🇩🇪

What an incredible adventure! 🏕️🌍

From 30 July to 9 August 2026, over 20 members of 4th Kildare Scout Group travelled to Germany to take part in the BdP Bundeslager National Jamboree 2026 – and what an experience it was!

Our group was made up largely of our Rovers and Ventures, along with one Scout, who were accompanied by four dedicated adult Scouters. These volunteers gave up their own annual leave and time with their families to make this opportunity possible for our young people – and we cannot thank them enough. 👏 Elaine, Emma, Aaron & Georgina!

From camping and activities to meeting Scouts from different countries, making new friends and experiencing the atmosphere of an international jamboree, a fantastic time was had by all. 🇩🇪🤝🇮🇪

A huge thank you to Kildare Credit Union Limited for supporting our journey through their Community Grant. Their funding helped us arrange a bus to transport the group to and from the airport, reducing the number of cars needed and helping us make the journey in a more environmentally friendly way. 🌱🚌

This trip is exactly what Scouting is about – adventure, friendship, independence, teamwork and creating memories that will last a lifetime.

A massive well done to all our young people who represented 4th Kildare Town so brilliantly, and to our adult volunteers who made it all possible.

Be Prepared. Go Further. Make Memories. 💚⚜️

A huge thank you to Jim Connolly's Pharmacy, Kildare Town, for generously sponsoring the discount on a new first aid kit for 4th Kildare Town Scout Group.

This vital equipment will accompany our Venture Scouts and Rover Scouts as they travel to the Scout Jamboree in Germany this week, helping to ensure they are well prepared for any minor injuries or emergencies throughout their adventure.

We are incredibly grateful for the continued support of local businesses like Jim Connolly's Pharmacy, whose generosity helps keep our young people safe while creating memories that will last a lifetime.

Thank you for supporting Scouting and investing in our community. 👏

Ireland said: summer… but make it intense 🔥

It’s officially “stick to the chair” weather today.

A gentle reminder to all our amazing volunteers:
💧 drink water like it’s your job
🧢 seek shade like it’s a VIP lounge
😅 and don’t try to “out-hustle” the sun — it always wins

We appreciate everything you do — just don’t forget to look after yourselves while you’re looking after others.

Another fantastic weekend at Beech Cottage, Edenderry for our Beavers Summer Camp! 🌞🏕️ Many thanks to our colleagues in Irish Girl Guides for the use of the cottage.

Over the weekend, the Beavers enjoyed outdoor activities, indoor activities, games including hook a duck, campfire and s’mores, and plenty of free time, and a movie night movie 🎥 🍿

Most importantly, we have seen great friendships, kindness, and fun throughout the weekend, making memories that will last a lifetime.

A special mention to our Venezuela members, where we held a Scouts Zone and a Moment of Silence to recognise our Scout Values and awareness of the situation happening in Venezuela.

“As Scouts, we are part of a worldwide movement and a global community. Scouting teaches us to care for others, both in our local community and across the world. Tonight, we remember the people of Venezuela who continue to face challenges and uncertainty, and all those affected by recent earthquakes and natural disasters.

We think of those who have lost loved ones, homes, livelihoods, or a sense of security. We also recognise the courage, resilience and hope shown by individuals, families and communities as they rebuild and support one another.

May this remind us of our commitment to helping others, showing kindness, friendship and solidarity wherever there is need. We now invite everyone to join in a moment of silence as we hold these communities in our thoughts.” 🙏

(Moment of silence)

“Thank you. Let us continue our camp mindful of our Scout values and our responsibility as active and caring global citizens.”

Thank you to all our Volunteer Adult Scouters who helped make the weekend such a success. From planning, budgeting, shopping and building the program - Thank you for everything you do 👏💪🫡

We are always looking for new Adult Volunteers - get in touch if want to join in our adventures!

Beavers Clean up for their Community work

This week, our Tuesday Beavers (ages 6–9) went out for a walk and cleaned up the playground and got to stay for a bit!

Well done to them and for making the playground a cleaner place for others.

Thank you to our adult volunteer scouters for their continued support and dedication to our youth members.

What a fantastic weekend at Beech Cottage, Edenderry for our Cubs Summer Camp! 🌞🏕️

Over the past weekend, the Cubs have enjoyed archery, forest camp activities, games, whistle making, campfires, plenty of outdoor adventures, and more ice cream and candy floss than anyone thought possible! 🍦🍭

Most importantly, we have seen great teamwork, friendship, kindness, and fun throughout the weekend, with Cubs supporting one another and making memories that will last a long time.

A special well done to our Chief Scout Award Cubs, who took on the challenge of sleeping in tents and showed great resilience, independence, and determination.

We hope the Cubs had as much fun as the adults did!
