We all have our own stories, challenges and struggles, and sometimes the people who seem the strongest are carrying burdens we cannot see.

At Monaghan Integrated Development, we believe in the importance of kindness, connection and creating communities where everyone feels supported, valued and heard.

🌿 A simple conversation can make a difference.

🌿 A listening ear can bring comfort.

🌿 A little kindness can mean more than we realise.

🌿 Asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness.

You don't have to have all the answers to make a difference in someone's life. Sometimes simply being there is enough. 💚

Let's continue to look out for one another, break down the stigma surrounding mental health and remind everyone that nobody should have to face difficult times alone.

🎉Come along to this amazing exhibition of talent in Monaghan 🎉

INSPIRED BY MONAGHAN 📸🎨🧵

We are delighted to invite you to Inspired by Monaghan – a special exhibition bringing together photography, painting and textile art, all inspired by the places and landscapes around us in County Monaghan.

Local photographs, including images shared by members of Monaghan Photography Club, have been reimagined through painting and textile work by SMM: Stitches, Meets and Memories (Sewing Group) and inspired amateur artists.

The launch of the exhibition:
📍 Market House, Monaghan
📅 Saturday, 10 October
🕚 11:00 AM

We will begin with a Guided Walking Tour, visiting some of the local places that inspired the works in the exhibition.

Afterwards, join us back at Market House for the Exhibition Opening at 12:30, music and refreshments.

The exhibition will also remain open during all Social Inclusion Week:

MID are delighted to support the Monaghan Branch of the Alzheimer's Society of Ireland at the recent turning of the sod on the construction of Green Meadows at Rooskey in Monaghan Town.

The new purpose-built Centre will offer a range of services tailored to the needs of people living with dementia, their families and the wider community. Part-funding of €200,000 for this dementia friendly and inclusive facility is being provided through the LEADER Programme.

We commend the determination of the volunteers of the Monaghan Branch of the ASI, ASI staff and everyone involved to-date in bringing the new Centre to the construction phase.

Great opportunity to meet An Taoiseach Micheál Martin at the Local Development Companies Network annual conference in Cork. Monaghan Integrated Development extended an invitation to visit County Monaghan see first hand the positive impact from programmes such as LEADER and SICAP as well as the other vital programmes which support local, community and economic development in the county.

Celebrating Our Incredible Volunteers!

We recently teamed up with Cavan County Local Development (CCLD) to host our Volunteer Appreciation Event—a truly special day dedicated to saying a massive THANK YOU to the volunteers in our Day Services and Social Clubs!
Your unwavering time, support, and dedication provide vital care for the most vulnerable members of our communities. We simply couldn't do what we do without you.

We also want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to our wonderful network of organisations and Information Stand Holders who gave up their time to support our mission and the older people in our communities.
Our attendees were treated to some incredibly insightful and thought-provoking guest speakers:
• North East Sepsis Awareness (NESA): A massive thank you to Hannah and Cathriiona for a vital, eye-opening talk on spotting the signs and symptoms of Sepsis.
• The Alzheimer Society of Ireland: Elaine Kearney (Dementia Advisor) shared invaluable insights into Dementia, highlighting the essential supports and services available to families across Cavan and Monaghan.
• Kinesiology Lakeside: Catherine O’Brien inspired us all with the everyday benefits of Kinesiology and taught us how to connect deeper with our own bodies.

We were also privileged to have Bernadine McCarra (HSE Service Manager for Older Persons) officially open the event. A special thanks to her colleagues Agnes McManus (Lead in ICPOP for Cavan and Monaghan) and Ijeoma Onyembi (Director of Nursing for Older Persons in Cavan) for joining us and showing their support.
Together, we are building a stronger, more supportive community for our older generation. Thank you to everyone who made the day so memorable!
