📜 CELEBRATING 70 YEARS: A LOOK BACK AT 1956! 🌾🎉
Take a look at this fantastic piece of local heritage: the official catalogue cover from Thursday, 20th September 1956!
Held at St. Mary’s Park courtesy of the local GAA, that historic 1956 show featured an official opening by the Minister for Agriculture at 2:00 PM, followed by the Parade of Prizewinners and jumping events. Catalogues cost just one shilling (1/-) from R. & S. Printers, with refreshments served on the field at "moderate prices," all pulled together under joint secretaries M. Hanratty and W. J. McCabe.
While the show tradition reaches back even further, marking 70 years since this 1956 milestone is a proud reminder of how much community spirit endures. A huge thank you to every volunteer, exhibitor, committee member, and supporter who has kept the Castleblayney Show thriving through the decades.
