✨ 🍻 New Member Spotlight: The Punch Bowl 🎸 ✨

The Punch Bowl - Home of Ballyhean Goes Country Music Festival, are located in Ballyheane, just seven minutes from Castlebar.

'We initially rented the pub in June 2016, and purchased it in November 2023. We are a family ran business and are very lucky to receive fantastic support from our local community all year round.

In summer 2018, over a cup of tea at the kitchen table, we came up with the idea of running a Country Music Festival in a marquee at the back of our pub—and Ballyhean Goes Country was born!

Our first festival ran for two nights in June 2019, featuring some of Ireland's top country singers. It has ran very successfully for the past 5 years, and we are looking forward to this year's festival on the 5th-7th June'.

This year's lineup:
🗓️ Friday 5th June: Michael English (supported by Andy Feery)
🗓️ Saturday 6th June: Derek Ryan (supported by Olivia Douglas)
🗓️ Sunday evening 7th June: The High Kings (supported by Mylo & Vinny)

Each year we choose a local charity partner. This year's festival charity will be Ballyheane National School 'playground appeal', raising money through weekend bucket collections and a donation from the festival.

Following last year's initiative with Michael Moran bus company offering a shuttle service into Castlebar on Friday and Saturday nights, we are expanding the service this year to include Westport!

Huge congratulations to our member Citylink on the rollout of the new enhanced services starting this Sunday, May 24th! This is a fantastic boost not just for Castlebar, but for the wider Mayo community, ensuring our region stays well-connected to Galway. Great to see regional connectivity thriving! 🙌🚍

Exciting things are coming!

We are delighted to announce the addition of 5 new return services that we are adding to our routes. 🎉

Route 430 (Ballina to Galway) will be receiving 3 new returns daily, while route 721 (Castlebar to Dublin Airport) will be receiving two new return trips daily. The expanded timetables provide our passengers with greater frequency, flexibility and choice! The new timetables will come into effect on Saturday May 24th 2026.

Headline: 💜 Support Relay For Life Mayo at The Mall! 💜

The Castlebar Chamber of Commerce is proud to support Relay For Life Mayo, taking place this weekend in the heart of our town. This 24-hour event brings our community together to Celebrate survivors, Remember those we’ve lost, and Fight Back against cancer.

The event kicks off at 5:00 PM this Saturday, May 16th, at The Mall. We encourage everyone to come down, experience the atmosphere, and show their support for a vital cause. It’s a powerful opportunity for the people of Castlebar to stand together and make a difference.

Every contribution and every candle lit helps fund the life-changing work of the Irish Cancer Society.

Castlebar Chamber of Commerce was honoured to host a visit from the Türkiye Ambassador to Ireland, Her Excellency, Esra Cankorur on Thursday 7th May 2026 at the Chamber Office at The Linenhall. Mr. Haluk KOÇ, Commercial Counsellor also attended. 2026 represents the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between our two countries. The Ambassador’s tenure in Ireland commenced in July 2025. During the meeting we exchanged insights on the social, cultural and business dimensions of both our countries. Türkiye is a very attractive destination for Irish people to go on holidays, especially with direct flights from Ireland to various cities in the country. We also noted that two major employers in Mayo, Vantive in Castlebar (formerly Baxter) and Ballina Beverages (Coca Cola) in Ballina have strong trading links with Türkiye. There is much potential for future growth in trade between the two countries in sectors such as Agri Food and Engineering, Software, Tourism, Pharmaceuticals and Renewable energy. We wish the Ambassador continued success for the remainder of her assignment in Ireland.
