Congratulations to Gerry Cleary and Michael Dwyer on their recent award acknowledging their 55 years of service and as founding members of Athy Lions Club.

Gerry and Michael are the only original founders of the Lions Club who have retained their Lions membership over fifty-five years.

Athy Lions Club were honoured to host Marian McGreevy, Lions Club District Governor when she visited our Club on the 16th of June. She presented chevrons to our 2 charter members Michael Dwyer and Gerry Cleary in recognition of their service to the Club over the past 55 years. 

In her address, she recognised the vision and foresight Michael and Gerry had to establish the Lions Club in Athy and the legacy of service, committment, care and concern for members of the Athy community.
Thank you for your service Michael and Gerry.
