Athy Community Family Resource Centre received FRC funding in 2018 as one of eleven new FRC's in the country. We are situated on Woodstock Street in Athy in the old CDP building beside Happy Days Child Care. We are open 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday (and evening times for pre-arranged group meetings)
Our work with communities and families from all over Athy, urban and rural areas, to support and enc
ourage active participation and to build strong families and communities. The primary focus of our work and the services we provide, is on early intervention aiming to promote and protect the health, wellbeing and rights of all individuals, children, young people and their families. We also aim to encourage and support the strengthening of communities and sense of belonging and ownership amongst the population of Athy, for all people, across the life span. The building and its Board of Management have a long history of involvement in improving the lives of the local residents of Athy. This work has been ongoing since 1990 since a group of local people came together to form a committee to respond to the needs of the local community. Their work in the community has continued throughout the years. We are completed a community consultation at the start of 2019, to inform us in planning the services we will provide are what the residents of Athy want to have. The groups and services currently using the building will continue to have a home here. Please feel free to call into the Centre any day to have a look around, see what groups are meeting here that you might like to join, inquire about setting up a new group or get help from the staff who may be able to signpost other services you may need that are available in the Athy area.
