Questions and Answers Session on LGBT+ Community for Parents and Carers / Family / Open to All

Refreshments will be served

This workshop is for all parents/ guardians/ carers or family of a young person, not just an LGBT+ young person. In this session, participants learn LGBT+ language and terminology, but most importantly, we will answer questions around all things LGBT+ young people, from sexual education and health, to bullying, pride festivals and school issues.

Learning Outcomes:

• Participants will learn new language and terminology

• Gain confidence in talking about LGBT+ issues with young people

• Develop an insight and understanding of LGBT+ young people

This project aims to increase awareness and understanding of LGBT+ issues in the community by offering workshops at different levels, participants will gain the knowledge and tools needed to foster inclusive environments and actively support LGBT+ individuals.

By promoting visibility and building allyship, these workshops seek to normalise LGBT+ identities and create more supportive, inclusive communities across County Kildare.

🌈 Thank You from Athy Youth Pride! 🌈

What an incredible day! A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came out and made Athy Youth Pride such an amazing success,we had a fantastic turnout and the energy was unforgettable. 💖

Special thanks to Athy Youth Project’s Comhairle na nÓg group, and Kildare County Council for organizing and supporting the event, to all our amazing volunteers, and of course to everyone who showed up to celebrate with us.

An extra big shoutout to the incredibly talented young musicians who absolutely blew us away with their performances 🎶🌟you made the day truly special.

And a massive thank you to Horhay, the brilliant artist who collaborated with young people to create the stunning new mural out the back of the youth café 🎨🌈 — a vibrant, powerful symbol of pride, creativity, and community.

Thank you again for all the love and support. We can’t wait to see you all next year! 🌈✨
