We work together — a step forward for our future.

On August 8, a PPE seminar was held at the Hong Kong Productivity Council. At the venue, over 100 Rotarians attended. This was the first time the district had presented PPE recognition. Again, we have reached a remarkable milestone — Peninsula Sunrise received a Five-Star award in PPE. The Five-Star award is the highest recognition for achieving high-standard contributions and actions in environmental support, fundraising, and education.

Thank you for the efforts of the 2025-26 PPE Director, Christy Yip. She has demonstrated leadership through actions in her area of support. She highly supported the campaign called "Let the Glacier Cool Down" (讓冰川退燒) and the recycling program. We all know that there can be no more delay in environmental protection. A lot of critical extreme climate events are approaching us.

Apart from the trophy presentations, two honourable guests shared their experiences and forecasts. They also shared some environmentally sustainable partnership projects for Rotary. Vivian, representing Green Earth (綠惜地球), talked about food recycling, plastic reduction, and social education. Another speaker was Professor Apple from the Coral Academy (中大珊瑚學院) in Hong Kong. From her, we learned that corals in Hong Kong encountered a marine disaster in the 1970s. Due to urbanisation, water pollution ruined the corals completely. It marked a historical marine disaster. After several years, with the help of the government and supporting organisations, the situation has been improving, but due to dramatic fluctuations in water temperature, the existence of corals still represents the diversity of the marine system.

Compliment to our new Rotarian Sarah. She has shown her enthusiasm in participation.
Keep on Sarah❤️
IPP Ivy. Thank you .
Look forward your lead in coming youth development.

Rotary Storm Connection
"Connecting Clubs, Safeguarding the Frontline."
"Ahead of the Storm, Action at the Front."

On July 25, at around 8:00 pm, Typhoon Signal No. 8 was about to be hoisted in Hong Kong, with heavy rain and loud thunder approaching. People rushed back home as usual, and supermarkets were full of people buying necessities.

On the other hand, the shadow of society was calling us. Homeless people are a significant group who are greatly affected by the external environment. A traditional organisation called "Homes for the Homeless" (露宿者之家) has been established since 1952.

They were short of food supplies, and the homeless might encounter food shortages. The donation of cup noodles could sustain some of their basic needs during the thunderstorm, because they are a self-funded charity and do not have extra funds to support unexpected needs.

Peninsula sunrise RCC lead Dickson Fung leaded 6 volunteers for caregiving. Some of them were inspired .They are willing to donate forfeiting food resources to the homeless centre continuously when under bad weather conditions. It would be as an enclosed -[services oriented] need and supplying food resources chain. Compliment to President Felex addressed and alloacted the matter and design such food re-balances circulated system.

Especially thankful , cohosted and action was taken together with the Rotary Club of Causeway Bay and Peninsula East Rotary Club. We instantly delivered 200 cups of instant noodles to their centres — the Wan Chai Centre and the Yau Ma Tei Centre. We were able to deliver efficiently and centrally coordinate the food supply. Grateful quick responses and effectiveness.

The next day, the typhoon signal was downgraded. We received a call from the centre, and their chief officer expressed their appreciation to rotary. Apparently, it can be a sustainable caring project support by action and real time management. We have received several inquiries from various parties after the project to ask for supporting.

We can foresee impactful actions beforehand, so that the situation can be well managed.

We served those in need. Be prepared — not just for emergencies, but as an attitude.

Greatful that Rotary Club of Causeway Bay decides work along with us in coming few years for this project.

Yes See you next time action people

A Full House of Joy at the Rotary Presidential Meeting

The Kick-Off of the Joint Presidents Meeting (JPM) was held on July 14. It is an annual tradition that helps unite Rotary's club presidents and officers for better service communication and fellowship.

Our President Felex joined the first JPM as convenor. A convenor is a role responsible for helping with the meeting. He served as secretary in the convenor team with passion and humility. Area 4 presidents worked together as a full team to brainstorm joint projects and study methods from other clubs as well. We are all straightforward.

An essential part of the JPM rundown is the presidents' airtime, where each president is allowed to broadcast their signature projects. The Rotary Club of Smart Hong Kong and the Rotary Club of Tai Po presented their elderly-oriented signature projects, such as E-sports and disco, targeting the elderly generation.

Another big news from DG CP Jimmy: Two types of recognition — "President of the Month" and "Rotarian of the Month" — have been officially launched! 🏆 These awards will be presented at every JPM to encourage people of action.

There will be lots of theme-based JPM meetings ahead. The upcoming one is a wine-tasting event, which aims at elite taste-sharing and joyful participation in any Rotary activities. See you!

On 12/7, Peninsula Sunrise hosted and visited (The Society for the Aid and Rehabilitation of Drug Abusers )香港戒毒會for a visitation service. The service Center is located at Shek Kwu Chau. It is a restricted area which is disallowing entries without permission since 1963. We have got a clear vision before visiting. Our aim was to connect hand-in-hand, focusing on health-care, anti drugs ,peace making and economics enhancements to those people in needed.

With supported by 8 club presidents and 13 participants. Our service goals were achieved. Around 50 beneficiaries attended the service activity, and they actively interacted and communicated with us. Meaningful exchange has seen.

First, we enjoyed an exciting World Cup football match between Argentina and Switzerland. It was a competitive match. In the venue, we were chilling and cheering each other on. We ate snacks. We were laughter . We frustrated when get behind scoring, time limitation. The enthusiasm of support filled the whole house. After that, a Hong Kong professional football player shared his setbacks and difficult moments throughout his career, insight those hints and tips in breaking through his critical times. We also gave them printed T-shirts with the words "Above Self" as exchange souvenirs. A well aligned and comfortable shirts. Their carpenters sent us back their handmade woody stand. So lovely.

During the visit, a showcase of 魚菜共生 had demonstrated to us. A enclosed eco system and maintained by Shek Kwu chau individuals. There yields are selling to hotels as suppliers. All the production were under keen and scientific operation to ensure quality.

The impact of this event served as a kick off anti-drug addiction campaign support. Besides, government actively board-casting. Our clubs can also treat like second boosters to arise the community interest and generate more social attention in this scope by percise targeting engagement and involvement. We believed that more visiting by care givers can let them more easier to rejoin to the public by love and understanding. It is because Action aloud than speak. We are action people too

We ended up with a friendly football match, and each president presented various trophies to players in order to share pride and joy.

Last, 8 presidents act as foodies and seeking delicious food in Cheung Chau. Like, well-known giant FISH BALL and mango masterpieces deserts.

The fellowship was unforgettable.
The friendship was unbelievable
The partnership was unbreakable

What’s a wonderful day.

On July 4, among almost 900 Rotarians, we witnessed the succession and legacy of District 3450.

Today, our incoming president, Felex, officially reported on his role. Platinum President Ivy placed the collar around Felex's neck. Thank you, IPP Ivy, a great succession year. We are all excited and look forward to this remarkable journey continuing. Greatness is guided by vision, and the vision is strong enough to outlast.

Regarding the installation ceremony of our buddy club, our fellowship team—PP Simon, Fellowship Director Benson, and P Felex—made a round trip to Taipei in a single day. Luckily, we were on time to the venue. As usual as before, there was a full house of guests at our buddy’s club. President Fiona gave a great speech and performed a skilled Latin dance on stage. The applause was non-stop! Congratulations to P Fiona on achieving a record high in fundraising tonight, and her presidency has officially begun. Finally, we got back to Hong Kong at 5 am. It was really sunrise, 8 hours later and an eventful District installation started at 13:00 (1:00 pm). What a fruitful experience! ⭐️
