We're looking for brave dippers to join our New Year's Eve Dip 2026 Team, 2.30pm on 31st December 2026, at The Golden Sands beach in Whitehaven! Raising money for The Freedom Project Cumbria, supporting people affected by domestic violence.

We are incredibly grateful to The Garfield Weston Foundation for their continued support of The Freedom Project Cumbria and for awarding us £60,000 over two years towards our core costs.

At a time when funding is becoming increasingly difficult to secure, unrestricted and core funding is more important than ever. It helps us keep the doors open, retain experienced staff, maintain safe and confidential spaces, and continue providing free specialist support to adults, children and young people affected by domestic and s*xual abuse across Cumbria.
Core funding may not always be the most visible part of what we do, but it is what makes every counselling session, support appointment, group, safeguarding response and phone call possible.
The continued confidence and support of The Garfield Weston Foundation means a great deal to us and will help provide stability as we continue to meet growing and increasingly complex need.

'R**e' is when someone didn't give their consent for s*x to happen. It's a form of s*xual violence.

And the person responsible for r**e is the ra**st, not the survivor.

R**e Crisis services are for victims and survivors of all forms of s*xual violence and abuse – not just those whose experience fits the legal definition of r**e.

📣Domestic Violence Awareness Month - Support the Freedom Project 📣

As part of Domestic Violence Awareness Month this October, Hope Haven is proud to be a drop-off point for Workington Police Cadets' toiletries collection in aid of the Freedom Project.

The Freedom Project is a local charity and service that supports people affected by domestic abuse, s*xual violence and related trauma. Sadly, many individuals and families fleeing abusive situations leave with little more than the clothes they are wearing.

We hope that by collecting essential toiletries and personal care items, we can help provide comfort, dignity and practical support to those rebuilding their lives during an incredibly difficult time.

Items needed include:
• Shampoo and conditioner
• Shower gel and soap
• Toothpaste and toothbrushes
• Deodorant
• Feminine hygiene products
• Hairbrushes and combs
• Baby toiletries
• Moisturiser and skincare products
• Shaving products
• New cosmetics and personal care items

Donations can be dropped off at Hope Haven throughout October. Every contribution, no matter how small, will make a real difference to someone in need.

Thank you for helping us support the Freedom Project and raise awareness of domestic abuse in our community. 💜
