Today it's the Red Kite Family Hub launch . We are looking forward to it. Today Stompy 🦖is joining the Home start Crew and the fabulous family hub staff! 💜
We are going to be running a new morning toddler group at Red Kite next year! Currently our Busy Days toddler group runs at Ambleside in the afternoon. 😁

❄ One Month To Go!! ❄

It's just one month until the Wokingham Winter Carnival 2026 on Sunday 29th November! This will be a FUN day out for the whole family, organised by Wokingham Lions Club.

There’s a whole host of street entertainers, music, singing, dancing and the fun of the fair with loads of different rides, whether you’re young or old - and with the town centre closed to traffic we've plenty of room for all the stalls run by local charities & businesses.

Santa will be in his grotto and for lunch there are stalls offering an amazing choice of food and drink.

There are stalls selling gifts too, so why not get your Christmas shopping sorted?

Today is the Brambles family hub launch event!

We are very excited! Sparkle 🦄 and the Home start crew will be attending , so apart from meeting the fabulous family hub staff you can meet us and find out about what we do too! 💜

Plus we are launching details of our super-special Christmas parties at The Brambles in December! This has been a really hard secret to keep... 🎅🏻

Why not us? We really want to know.

We believe in the difference volunteers make to local families. We also know that volunteering with us is not for everyone.

Perhaps you already volunteer with another charity. Maybe you have thought about volunteering but never taken the plunge. Or perhaps Home-Start has crossed your mind but something about what we offer has made you think it is not for you.

We want to understand why and we want you to be honest.
Is it the time commitment? The type of volunteering? The training involved? The nature of the role? Or simply that another organisation offers something that suits you better?

We know that what we do is quite different from many other volunteering opportunities but are we explaining that clearly enough? Are there things we could do differently? Could we make volunteering with Home-Start Wokigham District work for more people?

We are asking these questions because we want to keep learning, adapting and finding new ways for people to get involved so we can continue supporting local families for the next 30 years. 💜🧡

It's the Starlings Family hub launch event today! Please go along and find out what your local Hub offers and try some of the free half term activities 💜

Unfortunately Stompy , sparkle and the home start Wokingham district crew are having a rest today so it will be a dinosaur and unicorn free zone but so much else to see and do.

We are so excited! we launched the first of our Christmas parties at the Ambleside centre family hub launch yesterday and we have already had loads of bookings. 💜

All sessions are free but MUST be booked in advance, places are strictly limited.
Session includes a visit with Santa, gift and fun festive craft activities to do and take home.

These Christmas specials will replace our usual groups on Thursday 10th December and the ages have been expanded to allow more families to take part.

We cannot wait!
