Wokingham Lions Club

Wokingham Lions Club is part of Lions Club International. Ordinary People doing Extraordinary Things. Here are some of our experiences.

The Wokingham Lions Club has over 40 members, both male and female and aged from 18 years onwards. We generally meet at 8pm on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of every month. The first meeting each month is held at Wokingham Cricket Club and is a business meeting where we agree the ways in which we can support the community. The second meeting each month is generally a social evening. The Wokingham Lion

s Club is part of Lions Club International, which is the largest charitable service organisation in the world. It was formed in 1917 to offer people the opportunity to give something back to their communities. Today it has more than 1.4 million members belonging to 46,000 clubs in over 200 countries. Part of the Lions ethos is to promote fellowship with fellow Lions worldwide. Any member of a Lions club who may be visiting our area is welcome to join us at any of our social events, meetings or fund-raising activities. Similarly, when our members are on their travels they try to make contact with Lions clubs to promote fellowship. The Lion’s Club motto is simple….”We Serve”….what better way to explain our mission? If you want to give something to the local community and have fun at the same time, then contact us for further information. Each member can do as much or as little as they want. They are all volunteers so there is no pressure to do anything.

It's just 45 days until The Wokingham Walk Autumn 2026 🚶🏼‍♂️

On Sunday 18th October, join our Charity Walk with routes of 5, 10 or 15 miles around Wokingham. You can walk for fun or to raise funds for your favourite charity!

All routes start and finish at Elms Field in Wokingham town centre.

At Wokingham Lions Club’s club meeting this evening we drew the numbers for our 100 club - and three lucky winners will soon receive £100 cash as a result!

There is a draw every three months, with a fabulous Christmas prize of £500

Half the proceeds are awarded as prizes – the other half is added to our charity account to support good causes and those in need.

The Hijacked Hollies are coming to Wokingham Music Club on Friday 4th June at the Royal British Legion Winnersh!

The Hijacked Hollies pay tribute to one of the 60s and 70s most iconic British bands, The Hollies.

The Hijacked Hollies had their most successful year ever in 2025, which continued into 2026, performing to literally thousands of people at the Butlin’s ‘Festival of the 60s’, the Southern Motorhome & Campervan show at Newbury Showground, Warner Leisure Hotels, 60s themed weekends for ‘Yesterday Once More’ & ‘GN Holidays’, theatres and clubs – including 5 shows in Cyprus.

The Hollies had a total of over 30 chart hits, including 19 Top 20 hits, 17 of which were Top 10 and 2 No.1s, making them one of the most successful bands of their time, both in the UK and the US. In addition to their world-wide No.1 hit, 'He Ain’t Heavy, He’s My Brother', there are so many other songs – ‘Just One Look’, ‘Bus Stop’, 'The Air That I Breathe', 'Carrie Anne' - the list goes on. Their place in music history was recognised in 2010 when they were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

Following the retirement of The Hollies in 2026, The Hijacked Hollies will continue to pay tribute to the legacy of The Hollies and feature all the classic Hollies’ favourites, guaranteeing a hit-packed show.

The bar and doors open at 7pm with the music at 8pm.

The Kast Off Kinks are coming to Wokingham Music Club on Friday 7th May 2027 at All Saints Church Wokingham England.

Not to be missed - the Kast off Kinks has always included former members of the legendary band ‘The Kinks’. Past Kinks members include, John Dalton, Jim Rodford, Ian Gibbons, John Gosling & Bob Henrit. Ray Davies has also graced the stage on the odd occasion.

The current great line-up features Mick Avory (Founding member of The Kinks & the original drummer on all the classic hits from 1964-84), Mark Haley (keyboards/vocals, Kinks 1989-93, also played with The Rubettes), Mike Steed (bass/vocals, playing history with Love Affair, Chip Hawkes, Marmalade, The Rubettes & Mike Pender).

These high-class professionals are then fronted by the equally talented & charismatic Robin Bibi (guitar/main vocals). Robin is an award winning guitarist in his own right & has worked as a session man with such artists as Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, The Pretty Things, Ben E. King and Helen Shapiro to name but a few.

Expect all the hits, including You Really Got Me, Dedicated Follower of Fashion, Sunny Afternoon, Lola, Days, Waterloo Sunset, Come Dancing, and many more for a great night out!
