Polite notice

The lift is currently broken at our collection centre, Wokingham Charity and Community Hub.

After considering the Health & Safety of our volunteers and the people coming in to collect their food parcels, the decision has been made to temporarily close for collections from the hub until further notice.

Alternative provision is in place and been communicated to all registered referral organisations.

Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused, we hope to have an update very soon.

1st of November came around quickly....hope you all have fun with the Foodbanks Reverse Advent Calendar! Let's goooo...

It's the spookiest day of the year…

The only frightful things at Wokingham Foodbank are the scary statistics for hunger and poverty!

It's haunting how many people have had to turn to the foodbanks this year. Your generous donations work as a treat for families who cannot afford their next meal.

This Halloween you can help make sure no one faces the terrifying reality of not having enough food!

Happy Halloween! 🎃

As our Harvest Collection comes to a close, we want to thank Wokingham for your wonderful donations. Next up for November we would like to introduce our Reverse Advent Calendar.

How does it work?
Christmas can be a difficult time for many, especially for those living on a tight budget. Can you help us support those in need this Christmas?

The Reverse Advent works differently to a traditional one by using the days in November to collect items rather than receiving items. Many settings follow this broadly as a guide for what helps fill the gaps for our short stock items but also donations of some Christmas treats.

You can choose when you do your 24 days. You can do this on your own, or with your family or why not get your school involved?

Our aim is to send out the Christmas items in a Christmas hamper to all our clients who are referred to us in December. Please can we ask for any Christmas donations to be delivered to us before December?!

You can find out more about our Christmas Appeal on our website and download a colouring in version of the Reverse Advent Calendar from our website:

Thank you for supporting the Wokingham Foodbank, we hope you have fun!

Thank you so much for visiting the food bank and helping us date and sort your donations. We were so impressed by how engaged, curious and enthusiastic the children were, and we hope they learnt a lot about food poverty and how our local community works together to support those in need.

Thank you again for your time, generosity and support. We loved having you with us!

A huge thank you to our generous Crosfields Community 🫶

Today, our Year 6 Charity Representatives delivered a mini-bus load of food bank donations to Wokingham Foodbank 💙 Wokingham Foodbank

After unloading and unpacking the contributions, pupils got a tour of the facility and learned more about how the food bank helps make a difference.

Stay tuned to find out how many kilograms we raised together.

At Wokingham Foodbank, we know that financial hardship can affect many of us. Worrying about putting food on the table, paying bills or making ends meet can have a real impact on mental health and wellbeing.

This World Mental Health Day, we want to remind everyone in our community that it’s okay to ask for help.
Whether you need practical support, someone to talk to, or simply a reminder that you’re not alone, there is support available. Here are a couple of organisations to get you started.

Wokingham Wellbeing Services offer a free service for people aged 18 or over and are residents of Wokingham Borough or are registered with a Wokingham GP Surgery, to help you to explore ways to manage your wellbeing and daily stressors.

Visit www.mindinberkshire.org.uk/support-for-you/wokingham-wellbeing-service for more information.

The Lightning Reach portal allows you to find and apply for financial support from multiple providers, quickly and easily. Access the portal via their website.

Together, we can make sure no one has to face difficult times alone.

Donor Spotlight ✨

Lucus took part in a 'Citizenship Project' through his school, which is all in relation to the cost of living crisis.

Each student was tasked with raising money for a chosen charity which they covered in their school work. Lucas chose to wash cars to raise money for the foodbank.

With the money raised, Lucus bought essential items from our shopping list and donated them to the foodbank.

Thank you Lucus for becoming a Foodbank Friend and supporting your community. 💚
