📢 Thrive Grant Fund Now Open for Applications!

Are you a local charity, school, or community group working to improve lives in the Wokingham Borough?

The Thrive Grant Fund is now open for applications from local organisations delivering impactful, project-based initiatives that improve the wellbeing and lives of individuals and families experiencing financial hardship.

We are offering grants of up to £10,000 to support innovative, preventative, and inclusive projects that make a real difference in our community.

🌟Apply today for the Bright Futures Fund! 🌟

Funded by Wokingham Borough Council, this grant helps children from low-income households enjoy a variety of extracurricular activities, including school trips, musical instrument hire, sports and science clubs and much more!

Applications can be made on behalf of families via schools, alternative educational providers, youth groups, sports clubs, activity clubs and other relevant local charities within the Wokingham Borough.

Exciting Opportunity - Almshouse Flat Vacancy

A flat will soon be available at our Westende Almshouses, and we are now accepting applications. If you (or someone you know) are 55+, in genuine need of affordable housing and would enjoy living in a supportive, friendly community, we’d love to hear from you.

Each flat includes:
- Private front door
- Spacious living room
- Double bedroom
- Modern fitted kitchen
- Walk-in shower bathroom
- Plenty of storage

📍Located on Peach Street, Wokingham – close to shops and local facilities.

Applications are considered by our trustees in line with our mission to support those most in need within the Wokingham Borough. Applicants must meet our eligibility criteria.

🎉 Celebrating a very special milestone together! 🎉

Cecily, a much-loved Westende resident of nearly 20 years, recently celebrated her 93rd birthday in style! 🥳

Friend and fellow resident Maureen, along with her daughter Nicola, organised a wonderful strawberry cream tea in the residents’ lounge, bringing together around 25 friends to mark the occasion. 🍓☕

“I’d like to say a very big thank you to them both for making the day so special,” Cecily said. “They’ve done such a lovely job.”

It was a lovely reminder of the strong sense of community here at Westende Almshouses, where friendships flourish and special moments are shared. 💛
