Wokingham in Need are so grateful for the help of Reddam House UK.

Year 10 students at Reddam House spent 2 weeks collecting toiletries and other items and preparing comfort bag packages.
They had the chance to choose any act of kindness and they decided this would be a great way to give back to the community.

It was lovely to see young students being enthusiastic about helping the community and they said they look forward to liaising with us in their next academic year.

Wokingham in Need offer a regular service to the hospital and with the added help of the school we can do even more.

Lovely feature in Wokingham.Today about our recent end of summer party for people to get together in our sensory garden at Wokingham Community Hospital. It raised the spirits of patients and staff from Wokingham Hospital and friends from West Oak Care Home - Barchester Healthcare, Wade, Friendship Alliance, Willow Court, and more….. Many thanks to our dignitaries for attending - Wokingham Borough Mayor R Comber and Wokingham Town Council Mayor A Jones.

Also many thanks to our supporters from Tesco and Morrisons, and the help of League of Friends at the hospital. Plus an extra thanks to our entertainer Anna.

We are proud to help our community and hope everyone had a good time. Special thanks from Sue - Founder of Wokingham in Need to all the WIN volunteers things simply could not happen without them.

Wokingham in Need are very grateful to our ladies the Creative Nightingales for the wonderful comfort bags and more that they make and also thanks to the ladies of the Women's Institute in Wokingham for their generous gifts for use in our comfort bags that we regularly send to Royal Berkshire Hospital.

As an added task our Creative Nightingales were challenged to sew new bags
for RBH. This project is hopefully going to provide families with a large
bag in which to put the belongings of a deceased loved one. Hitherto the
goods have been put in a hospital bin bag. Talking with friends this seems
to be common practice and feels so impersonal and basic but regrettably this
was the only option. It is hoped that the new sewn bags will add a sense of
dignity and respect at a difficult time for relatives. The bags are washable
too and could serve another purpose afterwards. So far 26 are ready for
delivery to RBH.

We are proud that a group borne out of the Covid Pandemic have become a
vital part of Wokingham in Need and they provide a service that gives love
and support to those who really need it.

🧀🍷WHAT A NIGHT AT CHALK! 🍷🧀

A massive, heartfelt thank you to the incredible team at Chalk Wokingham who hosted a spectacular W**e & Cheese night followed by a live auction in support of Wokingham in Need!

In an unbelievable act of generosity where they not only supplied all the w**e and cheese for the tasting but also supplied all the w**es for a live auction, they donated 100% of the takings from the entire evening straight to our cause, raising over £3000 Every ticket sold, every glass poured, and every winning auction bid is going directly toward supporting our vital work helping the homeless, vulnerable, the elderly and young and those in hardship across the Wokingham borough.

We are incredibly grateful to Chalk for covering all the costs, Jacob and David went beyond as did all the staff and we are so grateful. We would also like to thank everyone who came out not only enjoy a fantastic evening but those who bid for the amazing w**e in the auction and supported us.

The relationship Wokingham in Need has with Chalk is special and this is borne out of the dedication that Jacob especially has for the community. His professionalism goes beyond and his passion to help others is unlimited – thank you again so much.
