Clewer & Dedworth Together

23/10/2026

We’re so pleased to see the beautiful poppy display at Clewer and Dedworth Memorial Recreation Ground again this year. ❤️

We started the display last year, and it’s wonderful to see it grow through the Windsor Community Poppy Project, with poppies now on display at the parish church in Windsor town centre.

We were proud to sponsor the refreshments at the launch of the Windsor town centre poppy display earlier today.

A huge thank you to all the volunteers who have helped make this possible. Your time, creativity and hard work have made our town look wonderful while creating a moving tribute for Remembrance.

Well done to all the schools who also took part and many of their displays are shown inside the Parish church.

Look out for the large poppies appearing on lamp posts over the coming week too (thanks to Cllr Karen Davies for co-ordinating the volunteers)🌺

🌺 Can you help with the Clewer Memorial Poppy Project? 🌺

Last year, our community came together to create a wonderful tribute using over 2,000 poppies. Now we need a few helping hands again as we add to our display and support Windsor Community Poppy Project!

🧵 We’re looking for volunteers to help sew poppies onto the netting, ready to create our memorial display for Remembrance.

It’s a simple task, and you don’t need to be an expert at sewing. Every poppy stitched on helps us create something special to remember and honour those who served.

📍 You can pop in during opening hours from Monday at Woody’s Cafe and if you have a stitching group, you could take a section away!

If you can spare a little time to help, we’d be so grateful. Please share this post with anyone who might like to get involved.

Let’s come together again and make something special for Clewer. ❤️🌺

Thank you to everyone who came along to our Great Get Together Picnic after school.

From the middle school children who popped by for sweets, stickers and a go on the pogo sticks, to the lovely families who relaxed under the trees, shared a picnic and joined in with the parachute games – it was wonderful to see.

There was even a beautiful homemade cake being shared around. “What’s the special occasion?” we asked.

“This!” came the reply.

What a perfect way to spend a Friday afternoon, celebrating community, kindness and togetherness in the spirit of the Jo Cox Foundation’s Great Get Together.

We think this might have to become a regular tradition.
