Holton Village Hall Holton Village Hall is run by the people of Holton, Somerset, for the benefit of local villagers. All enquiries welcome!

The Hall has a fully equipped kitchen and place settings for 50 people. It's available for all kinds of event hire - parties, meetings, classes etc. And, we have an extensive range of stuff for external hire: blue & white china, cutlery, glasses, tables, chairs, small marquees, and other catering equipment e.g.hot water urn, big teapot etc

Hall hire for an event costs £25 - block bookings are neg

otiable. The Aim of the Village Hall Committee is:
To look after the village hall and maintain the building and contents for the benefit of people from Holton and the surrounding area
To arrange events to promote harmony and a sense of village community
To raise sufficient funds to keep the building insured and in good condition, and from time to time to improve its facilities
To allow the Church to use the hall for various events throughout the year at no charge, except for the electricity costs

We are seeking responsible, dynamic people to join our team at the Old Inn Coach House in Holton, Wincanton, Somerset, BA9 8AR. In November 2026 we will be launching the Old Inn with a new look and an exciting menu. Bringing an exciting new approach to a 418 year old coach house.
Your Role will be to ensure that we successfully meet all our customers’ requirements in a welcoming and safe environment. This requires friendly and efficient Customer Service Skills combined with good Health and Safety Awareness. With involvement both in the initial launch and day to day running of the Old Inn, you will ideally have professional qualifications related to the positions on offer alongside bundles of experience and enthusiasm.
We are not just looking for another member of staff; we ideally want those who want to help the business grow and be rewarded as they should. Ali and I pride ourselves on being great employers, having been in the customer care industry for a very long time. You are as important to the business as our customers, so being part of the success should help you achieve what you need within your role.
For the positions on offer, you should ideally have:
• NVQs in Hospitality and Catering
• Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate
• Knowledge and understanding of SFBB (Safer Food Better Business (formerly known as HACCP))
• Knowledge and understanding of COSHH
• A working knowledge of Menu Costing, Stock Take & Ordering Procedures
• Enthusiastic Customer Service Skills

Good evening Old Inn followers. I'm Alan one of the partners who have taken on the old Inn. My partner Ali and I are really looking forward to bringing one of Somerset's gems back to life.
Regrettably it's in a bit of a state and it's going to take us a fair while to get it back to its former glory.
We are 2 weeks in and moving on steadily as the work schedule grows as we discover more issue's. Over the next few weeks we will be doing the majority of the major works and then concentrating on the niceties needed within the Inn.

Our plan " which may change" is to
Open on the 1st November. We still have a lot to do and staff to employ, so please bear with us and our teams of work persons. Any questions please do not hesitate to message me and I will reply as soon as I physically can.

If you have any free time pre opening, pop into the Wincawel Tap n' Spile and see what we did with the former Wincanton cobblers. We serve fantastic draughts, wines and spirits. So pop over to the inn when I'm in or pop to the Winnie tap open Friday and Saturdays 5pm till 10pm 🥰🥰
