Today we’re celebrating one of the unsung ‘backroom’ services that helps to keep our show goers and volunteers safe.
Having medical backup at a show is essential, and we’re lucky enough to be able to rely on SMT (Specialist Medical Transport Ltd).
Though locally based at Hitchcock Business Park here in Uffculme they are a UK-wide, CQC-registered independent ambulance provider operating a dedicated fleet for non-emergency patient transport, high-dependency units (HDU), and emergency cover.
When they aren’t providing medical cover at the Uffculme Show their key services include:
- Patient Transport Service (PTS):
Routine, flexible transport for hospitals, GP surgeries, and clinics.
- High Dependency Units (HDU):
Prompt, skilled medical transport for patients requiring continuous monitoring.
- Secure Transport:
Safe and dignified transport for acute mental health, challenging behavior, and forensic needs.
