We are proud to highlight the incredible work of Louise Broadway Ruscoe, Founder and CEO of Devon Healing Horsemanship.

With over 20 years’ experience in leadership and horsemanship, Louise is an Accredited Practitioner delivering equine assisted interventions across Devon, as well as an accredited TheHorseCourse facilitator. Her work supports children, young people and adults — particularly those who have not progressed through traditional talk-based therapies.

Through structured, action-based sessions with specially trained horses, participants are supported to develop:

✨ Assertiveness
✨ Clear communication
✨ Responsibility
✨ Emotional regulation

Louise’s practice is grounded in evidence-based methodology and robust outcome measurement — focusing on meaningful, measurable and long-term change. Outcomes include reduced anxiety, stronger relationships and improved engagement with education or work.

Nearly two years ago, Arla was our very first intensive ReStart participant.

She’s grown so much since then — and still chooses to come back for top-ups when needed.

Today she was working with Mel at liberty — no ropes, just communication.

When Arla lifted her energy, Mel responded.
