A huge thank you to everyone who joined our Adult Workshop today! 🌹📚

We had a wonderful time creating beautiful paper flowers from recycled book pages and decorating jam jars using decoupage techniques.

Thank you also for your generous donations. Your support helps our library continue to provide activities and services for the community.

We are looking for volunteers to help us with The Summer Book Quest 2026!

If you are aged 14-17 we would love to hear from you. It is a great opportunity to build skills, support the library and have fun.

Volunteers will:
🔵 Encourage children aged 4-11 to take part in The Summer Book Quest.
🔵 Sign up new members and give out incentives.
🔵 Tidy and shelve books.
🔵 Help at weekly children’s games and craft activities.
Please pop in to the library to pick up an application pack or speak to staff with any questions.

Collect your paper booklet with stickers and discover accessible routes designed to support people, including neurodiverse individuals, to enjoy the great outdoors. 🌊

📖Come along and hear him talk about his varied work, his books and his experience getting his books published.

⏰ The event will start at 2pm this afternoon (Thursday 4th June 2026).

It's a free event but donations to the library are always appreciated.

Can you help us share the books everyone wants to read this month? 📚

There’s high demand for our 10 most wanted titles, and many eager customers are waiting to borrow them. We’ve purchased as many copies as our budget allows, but if you’re able to help, we’d be truly grateful.

If you have a pristine copy, you’ve finished reading - whether it’s one you bought yourself or received as a gift - you can donate it at any library in Devon or Torbay. We’ll add it to our collection to help reduce the waiting list.

Our events over the next 2 weeks: 📖

Author visit for National Crime Writers Month - Terry Green visits us this Thursday 4th June. Talking about his new book, Dangerous Art

For the Great Big Green Week we have Anna from our Libraries Unlimited Climate Team able to tell you all about the tech recycling initiative Fixy. 💚💻
Come and talk with Anna about the work Fixy Project do.
Tuesday 9th June - 10am -12 noon.
Our library is a drop-of point for unwanted tech - please check the full list here. https://www.fixyproject.co.uk/drop-off-point-info

Children's clothes swap 💚👕👗
Wed 10th June from 2pm - 4pm.
Leave donations of good quality children's clothes, shoes and accessories for ages 0-10 years with the library. Donations can be dropped at the library during staffed hours from 3rd June. Bring along clothes that no longer fit your children and swap them from something bigger/better/brighter.

Adult craft session on Monday 15th June from 10am - 12 noon. 🌷✏️
Make some charming paper flowers and decorate a jar for them using decoupage.
Places for this adult craft session must be booked with library staff and it's £3.50 with all materials provided and our cafe open for refreshments.
