We provide support, advice & information to Stroke Survivors, Carers and their Families across Wigan

Think Ahead Stroke is a Wigan based stroke awareness and support charity delivering a range of services and initiatives for its members and the wider community across Wigan and Leigh. In particular, Think Ahead provides a community of support and advice to stroke survivors and their carers through shared knowledge and experience. Founded in 2000, Think Ahead places an emphasis on encouraging stroke survivors and carers to participate in regular organised social activities, monthly excursions and short break holidays. Think Ahead recognises that although many stroke survivors can go on to lead happy fulfilling lives, their lives and those of their carers will never be the same again. The organisation also plays an important role in shaping stroke care and support available through the NHS and social services.

Spooky season is upon us and the ghosts and ghouls came to our Snug and Tavern session! We had spooky snacks, scary music, ghastly games and a quiz!
If you fancy joining us to meet new friends or seek support with a good brew - keep a look out on our socials for our activities.
Our next big seasonal event is our Christmas party at Abram Community Centre on the 7th December 12-2pm so come and join us for some festive fun!

Fancy dress is welcome but absolutely not compulsory, and there'll be treats, games and plenty of good company. Whether you go all out or just come along for a chat and a laugh, we'd love to see you there!👻

🎉Celebrating our final Stepping Stones cohort of the year!
Last week, our latest group completed their final session of Stepping Stones. Over eight weeks they've learned, shared and supported one another and its been a joy to watch.
A huge well done to everyone who took part, to Danielle and all the services who come to deliver the sessions 💙

The Ashlanders are go and what lovely voices!
On Monday we launched our very first Choir group with the help of TMP College and their fabulous students.
If you fancy joining us, our next session is Monday 26th October 1.30-2.30pm
No experience necessary and anyone is welcome to sing, clap or just have fun!
