Very proud of our reader who graduated today at Wigan Libraries. He has worked hard and it has been a joy to see him grow in confidence while improving his reading and writing. We really do wish him luck with whatever he chooses to do next with his new skills. Special thanks to his coach, Elaine.

Celebrating being awarded a further grant from The National Lottery Community Fund to continue our support of people who struggle to read in Wigan and Leigh. Tea and delicious cake at On The Way Cafe with our lovely coaches - new and old, tall and small! Thanks for a fun afternoon!

Can You Make a Difference?

Read Easy Preston provides free one-to-one training for adults who cannot read but want to learn. We are run entirely by volunteers and currently have a number of people learning to read and we are always looking for more. Readers are taught in mutually convenient public venues such as local Libraries which we have vetted.

To help more potential readers we are looking for a VOLUNTEER RECRUITER.

The Volunteer Recruiter role is a critical role in the Read Easy Management Team because recruiting more volunteers is the key to being able to support as many people as possible who want to learn to read.

Volunteer Recruiter duties include:

Working with the group’s Publicity Officer to identify the best
means of advertising to attract the volunteers you need.
Managing the recruitment process for all potential volunteers.
Ensuring appropriate induction is provided.
Ensuring compliance with Read Easy Policies
Supporting Management Team activities and communicating
progress.

If you have experience of interviewing and enjoy meeting people, this is the role for you. You need to be able to work as part of a team and on your own initiative. This is a role for someone who is confident in using I.T. and is able to follow policies and procedures.

Volunteering with Read Easy Preston is an exciting opportunity to help others and make a real difference in our community.
