A huge thank you to Seaton Childrens Carnival for inviting West Cumbria Search and Rescue to be part of This Years Carnival. It was a brilliantly organised day from start to finish, and our team genuinely loved working alongside such a dedicated and welcoming committee. We’re already looking forward to the next one.

⚠️20 TO GO UNTIL THE BIG WALK ⚠️

🚶‍♂️ SPONSORED WALK FOR A GREAT CAUSE 🚶‍♀️

On 28th June 2026, volunteers from West Cumbria Search & Rescue will take on an incredible 25-mile walk from Mawbray to St Bees — all in full kit.

⏰ Starting at 9:00am

🌧️🌬️ No matter the weather, they WILL complete the walk.

These volunteers already go above and beyond to help keep people safe. Now they’re pushing themselves even further to raise vital funds for their life-saving work.

We are now recruiting new Search Technicians and drone pilots to join our dedicated team.

Whether you have experience in the outdoors or simply want to make a real difference in your community, we are looking for motivated people who are ready to be part of a professional, supportive, and highly trained team.

We are also looking for volunteers to support the team in important admin and support roles, including:
• Treasurer
• Membership Support
• Fundraisers

Every role plays a vital part in helping the team continue responding when needed most.

📟 🚨 Callout – 04/05/26 @ 18:39hrs 🚨📟

Our team was requested by Cumbria Police to assist in a multi-agency search for a high-risk missing person in the Seaton–Workington area.

Volunteers deployed promptly and worked alongside Workington Lifeboat, HM Coastguard, and Maryport Rescue.

The team returned to station at 21:19hrs

⚠️ Training Notice – West Cumbria Search and Rescue

West Cumbria Search and Rescue will be carrying out training exercises in the Moresby Park area tonight (Wednesday 29th April).

During this time, you may notice equipment or items placed around the area. These belong to the team and will be collected as part of the exercise.

You may also see search and rescue officers operating nearby—please do not be alarmed, this is part of a planned training session.

Thank you for your understanding and support.
