Working with Beach Access Project, Weymouth Town Council and Dorset Council, we're in plans to make this a reality at Weymouth beach.

🏆We are absolutely thrilled to announce that Weymouth Surf Life Saving Club has officially been named Surf Life Saving GB Club of the Year for 2025! 🎉🥳

😶 It's difficult to put into words how much this means for a club formed less than 8 years ago. We have moved from a small group of parents meeting sporadically on a Saturday morning, to a club with over 1️⃣3️⃣0️⃣ members who have successfully hosted the week-long National Surf Life Saving Championships for over 5️⃣0️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ visitors!

👏🏼Thanks to our volunteers and members who have made this possible, without who, the club would be nothing.

What will the next 8 years bring? Watch this space, we've got some exciting plans afoot 👀

Great to spend time today with Will, founder of the Beach Access Project, whose vision is to make Dorset the Inclusive Blue Space Capital of the UK! ♿🏖️🌍

We are incredibly excited to share that Weymouth Beach has been selected as a potential venue for a specialized accessible wheelchair, allowing those with limited mobility to not just see the ocean, but to get right into the sea.

Weymouth Surf Life Saving Club is proud to help facilitate this project and, with Will’s determination and support from Weymouth Town Council, we’re aiming to make Weymouth a UK centerpiece for inclusive blue space use.

First session back for our "masters" last night and we were glad the kettle was working!

Interested in joining us? Our masters sessions are for anyone over 30 who wants to improve their fitness, swimming ability, board paddling skill, or just spend some time outside. No minimum standard required! Drop us a message if you'd like more info or to attend a free taster!

Great to see everyone back on the beach last night! Thanks as always to our army of volunteers for making it possible (especially the water safety team who were by far the bravest! 🥶🦸🏼‍♀️)

Tuesday 21st sees our first 🔴masters session starting at 1830. Why not come along and give it a go? Free to all over 18s this coming Tuesday. No minimum standard required!

Will be back for our regular club sessions next Thursday, including our first 🟡sandhoppers session of the year for our 5 and 6-year-olds.

☀️ Feb Half-Term Lifeguard Training & Verifications ☀️

CONGRATULATIONS to club members Alex, Reubin, Leo & Maddie for successfully passing their Surf Life Saving GB Lifeguard verification in (some very welcome!) sunny and glassy conditions yesterday 🤩

Alex, Reubin, Leo all joined Weymouth SLSC as Nippers, progressing on to become committed Youth and Senior members and now, having turned 16yrs old, successfully passed their Surf Lifeguard training & verification with Trainer Assessors Alice & Barney 🤝🤝🤝🥳

All three hope to join RNLI Lifeguards Weymouth and West Dorset team this summer alongside Maddie who will be returning as a casual RNLI Lifeguard locally ☺️

BIG THANKS! to Senior member Jude for volunteering his time this week, along with all of our VOLUNTEER NIPPER & YOUTH COACHES who help train up our youngest members with the skills required to become professional lifesavers👏

We will be running our next Lifeguard Course during the 2026 Easter Holidays:

🛟 Verification assessment - 4th Apr
