2026: A Year of Upwey in Pictures
The summer section of the Upwey Society’s Photography Exhibition officially starts today. We will still be accepting any spring photos up until Sunday 14th June, but are now also accepting your summer photos, which should be taken between Monday 1st June and Monday 31st August 2026. Please note that there is a maximum of 2 photos per individual per season.
The subject of the photo will be up to you, all we ask is that it is taken in Upwey. Please remember, Upwey is not just “old Upwey” so we would love to see a range of photos from all over the village.
We will be displaying as many of your photos as we can in an exhibition, open to the public, early in 2027 in the Old School Village Hall. We are also hoping to use some photos on our website and in future communications to showcase our lovely village.
Summer photos need to be in high resolution and emailed to [email protected] by Monday 14th September 2026. Please include your name (which will be displayed alongside your photo), when and where the photo was taken, a title or caption and any further information regarding the photo that you wish to include.
Before you submit any photos please read the terms and conditions below:
1. Your email will not be shared and will not be used for any other purpose than to contact you about the exhibition.
2. Do not enter private property to take photos, unless you have permission of the landowner.
3. As photographs will be shared publicly, images of children will only be accepted if you supply confirmation of parental permission. It is the responsibility of the photographer to ensure that they have the necessary permission.
4. Whilst in public spaces you generally have the right to take photos of people without their permission, but please be mindful of an individual’s privacy.
5. The Upwey Society reserves the right to refuse any photographs that they deem inappropriate.
6. Copyright will be retained by the photographer but, in submitting your photographs, you agree to The Upwey Society displaying them publicly; at an exhibition, on social media, on their website and in future Upwey Newsletters.
7. A maximum of 2 photographs per season per individual are allowed.
8. You do not need to live in Upwey to submit a photograph.
9. Photographs must be taken in the village of Upwey, Weymouth, Dorset, UK.
Please enjoy walking round the village and we look forward to seeing your photographs.
