There’s only 20 days left to register for our 2026/2027 garden waste collection service.
Permit applications can be made using a myeastlothian account on our website until the sign-up window closes at 4pm on Monday, 6 July.
The permits cost £40 and offer the benefit of fortnightly collections between 31 August 2026 and 27 August 2027.
Permit stickers will be delivered in August to every household which signs up showing the address and permit number for the registered property. Our collection crews will only empty brown bins with a valid sticker clearly displayed and they will check the sticker details match the address. There is a strict limit of one brown bin per household.
Residents will also receive a calendar with the permit pack displaying the day and week of their bin collection.

A reminder that our telephone payment service will be temporarily unavailable from 3pm tomorrow (Friday, 12 June) until Tuesday, 16 June.
The service will be unavailable while an essential system upgrade is completed. A further update will be provided on Tuesday to confirm its return.
During this time, online payments can be made at https://orlo.uk/PBS2J while council tax or rent can also be paid at the Post Office or PayPoint stores.
We apologise for any inconvenience while this upgrade takes place.

We were very happy to help!

After nearly 2 years, the red mats are back! When the school closed, the mats were removed from the village hall. School closures like these hit communities hard. Although loosing access to some gym mats might not seem like a big deal, it represents the far reaching and often unseen effects when a school is closed. We still think of the families that were negatively affected and hope times are better now.

This week though, we are grateful to Saltoun Community Association SCIO, Humbie, East & West Saltoun and Bolton Community Council for the donation and grant, and to our regulars who always chip in a little extra, that have allowed us to purchase a set of our own*.

Come join our session on Friday 29th May where we will be rolling, wriggling and jumping in celebration. 🤸🙌
