Join Nottingham Youth Orchestra for an uplifting afternoon of music on Sun 5th July as they celebrate the culmination of this academic year’s orchestral achievements at Nottingham’s Albert Hall. The special programme by NYO’s three talented youth orchestras and NYJO the Jazz Orchestra, includes classical highlights, popular hits, excellent jazz-in-the-bar, plus opportunities for individual orchestral sections to shine. July is when NYO says a fond farewell to valued members as they move on to higher education, so it’s a great time to bring along and inspire musical youngsters interested in joining and taking their instrumental playing to the next level.

NYJO, the talented Nottingham Youth Jazz Orchestra, is looking for SAXOPHONE PLAYERS! 🎷NYJO would love to hear from youngsters who play Alto, but particularly Tenor & Baritone Sax. NYJO is a leading national youth jazz band and its terrific sound, enthusiasm and professional approach have been highly rated by appreciative audiences and gig organisers. VIOLAS are at the HEART 💖 of any ensemble and their rich sound is needed to bring music scores to life. Please support this effort to revive interest in this special instrument - there will be violas to try. When you’re ready there’s a place in one of NYO’s 3 tiered Symphony Orchestras for you too!

NYO IS ON A MISSION to encourage young violinists to discover their dark, rich side in the hope that more will fall in love with the VIOLA 💖 and bolster the number of young musicians who can play both Violin & Viola 💕. Recently we teamed up with the wonderful Carmen Flores (carmflors) for a super Viola Workshop because youth, amateur & professional ensembles are all DESPERATE FOR VIOLA PLAYERS to bring the heart of the musical score alive.
