As camp gets closer, so does the amount of work happening behind the scenes from our amazing volunteers.

This photo shows just part of the preparation taking place with our Group Lead Volunteer’s living room currently piled high with shopping ready for our 50th Anniversary Camp… and there’s still more shopping to go!

Preparation for this camp started back in November 2025, with volunteers spending months planning activities, preparing equipment, organising food, completing risk assessments and getting everything ready for an unforgettable weekend.

A huge thank you to all of our volunteers for everything they do to provide amazing opportunities and for our young people.

We’re looking for new volunteers to join 1st Burtonwood Scouts.

From helping at weekly meetings to supporting events and activities, there are lots of ways to get involved — and you don’t need any previous Scouting experience.

You’ll be helping local young people gain confidence, learn new skills and have amazing experiences along the way.

A huge thank you to everybody who joined us today for our 50th Anniversary Community Open Day.

It was fantastic to welcome so many people to Burtonwood Scout Hut as we celebrated 50 years of Scouting in our community. It was especially lovely to see past members, current members, volunteers and supporters all coming together to celebrate this special milestone.

We hope everyone enjoyed taking part in activities including popcorn making over an open fire, crafts and soft archery, alongside the chance to look back through our group history and memories from the last half century.

As our Community Open Day comes to a close, it’s now time for our volunteers to celebrate this incredible milestone and reflect on everything that has been achieved over the past 50 years.

Kai Lindsay, Group Lead Volunteer, said:
“Celebrating 50 years of Scouting in Burtonwood is incredibly special. I’m proud to lead such a dedicated team of volunteers who give so much to provide adventure and opportunities for our young people each and every week.”

Phil Greenwood, Chair of the Trustee Board said:
“Having been part of the group as a young person myself, it’s fantastic to see Scouting in Burtonwood continuing to thrive 50 years on. Today has been a wonderful celebration of the volunteers, young people and community who have shaped the group over the years.”

Thank you again to everyone who attended, supported and celebrated with us today.

🎉 Our Community Open Day is Tomorrow! 🎉

We can’t wait to welcome everyone to Burtonwood Scout Hut tomorrow as we celebrate 50 years of Scouting in Burtonwood.

There’ll be plenty to see and take part in throughout the day including soft archery, crafts, popcorn making and more — plus a chance to look back through some of the history and memories from our group over the last half century.

Whether you’re involved in Scouts already, were part of the group in the past, or simply want to see what we’re all about, everyone is welcome.

⚜️ We’re officially 50! ⚜️

Today, 16th Warrington (1st Burtonwood) Scouts proudly celebrates 50 years of adventure, friendship, community and .

Since 14th May 1976, generations of young people and volunteers have helped shape our Scout Group into the thriving, welcoming community it is today. From camps and hikes to badges, friendships and unforgettable memories, Scouting has made a lasting impact on so many lives here in Burtonwood.

Today is a chance to reflect on our journey, celebrate everyone who has been part of our story, and look ahead with excitement to the future.

To mark the occasion, we’ll be celebrating in true Scout style with a special birthday party for our Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs and Scouts 🎉

A huge thank you to every volunteer, leader, parent, supporter and young person, past and present, who has helped make the last 50 years possible.

Here’s to the next chapter, the next generation, and the next 50 years of Scouting in Burtonwood
