✨ What a fantastic day at the Area 14 Dressage Qualifier at Southfield House, Frome! ✨

With 23 riders, 26 tests and countless smiles, our riders and horses did us proud. From first-time partnerships and last-minute horse changes to scores above 70% and championship qualifications, it was a day full of determination, teamwork and success.

Congratulations to our winning 90cm team of Poppy, Shannon, Ava and Abi, and to all those who have now qualified for the championships. 🏆

A huge thank you to our parents, supporters, Lisa for stepping in as Acting DC, and Sam for all the coaching and preparation.

We're so proud of every rider who represented us. ❤️

A big thank you to Katy Overton for her fascinating loading demonstration at RAC Saddle Club Bovington Adult Camp yesterday evening.

Katy highlighted the importance of trust, communication and understanding, showing how building confidence through small steps can help horses succeed with bigger challenges. A really informative and thought-provoking session enjoyed by all who attended.

Thank you, Katy, for sharing your knowledge with us. 🐴

If we had a pound for every stud conversation at the yard, we’d have a very well-funded club by now. Hard ground or soft, one stud or two, front the same as back or not. Ask five riders and you will get five different answers, delivered with complete confidence.

Turns out there is some actual science behind it. British Eventing have pulled together a really handy guide, and it is well worth a read.

A horse that slips can quickly lose confidence in its footing – which is why studs can play an important role in helping horses feel secure and balanced on different ground conditions.

British Eventing organisers work tirelessly to prepare the best possible going, but factors such as weather, soil type, terrain and the time of year can all have an impact.

So how do you know which studs to use, and when? 🤔

Read our latest guide to learn how to stud up for the going and help your horse perform with confidence👇

EVENTERS CAMP 2026

Right, Steph filmed us a lovely little video about Eventers Camp… and then gave you the wrong dates. Classic 😄

POV: you ask your yard manager to promote the camp and she gives everyone the wrong dates. No shade Steph, we love you.

The actual dates: 3rd–5th August 2026 📅

Three days of cross-country, show jumping, grids, flatwork, fun activities, and residential accommodation with all meals included. Whether you’re an ambitious 12-year-old or a very determined adult, there’s a place for you here.

You’ll be coached by Jo Rimmer, Joe Roome, Chris Wincer, and Steph herself — date confusion aside, she’s an exceptional coach and you should absolutely trust her with your training, if not your diary.

Chris Wincer also popped up at the end to personally tell you to come along. He’s right. Don’t let him down.

Open to eventers aged 12+ including adults. Entries now open on Equo 👇
