01/01/2025
We are deeply saddened to hear about the passing of one of our former Commanding Officers, Lt Cdr (SCC) Edward Mason MBE RNR.
Ted first joined the cadets along with his older brother and childhood friend in the 50s and then he chose to volunteer shaping the lives of many cadets and staff on the Wirral!
Ted first took command at our unit in 1973 till 1988. Looking at our history of COs he is the 7th to take command. He remained within the unit and took command again in 2007 for a couple of years to steady his beloved ship.
He will be missed by all those members of the Sea Cadet Corps and most importantly missed by all ex members of the SCC not only across the Wirral but across the NW!
Our thoughts are with all of his family and friends at this sad time.
Rest easy Sir, your duty is done. 🫡
