Our foster ladies are determined individuals who have been rescuing dogs and cats in their respective home t
owns of near Focsani, Deva, Hunedoara and Sibiu, Romania for years. They work regular jobs by day and advocate for animals as well as spend their spare time rescuing them at the same time - day, night and in their sleep (what sleep?!)
They rescue animals from the streets, from the public "shelters", from the side of the road and from wherever else they find them - young pups, old dogs, special needs dogs, cats of all shapes and sizes. The aim of this page is to help them continue to do so by streamlining information about rescue dogs and cats in one place and facilitate adoptions - by adopting ONE dog/cat you're saving his/her life and the life of the dog/cat that can be rescued in his/her stead. As many people know, Romania is a harsh place for dogs and cats, they either suffer on the streets through starvation, disease and abuse or end up in the local public "shelters" where life is in fact a death sentence, even if the animal isn't immediately put down. Euthanasia, often in horrid ways, is all too common place in these "shelters" and all other forms of animal abuse are also tolerated or overlooked. Despite how hard it is to go into the public "shelters", our foster ladies keep going back, they keep rescuing. To help the desperate and the sick, to try to make a difference, one life at a time. This is how these ladies got to where they are today - currently caring for hundreds of dogs, each of them, depending on where they live and how much space they have available. It is their passion to not only get them back to full strength, with a clean bill of health but to get them adopted to kind, caring people, so they can forget the traumas they may have experienced. Even though they go through so much pain and suffering, most dogs (and cats!) are so very unconditional and all they want is to be loved and cared for by humans and for this they give you their whole hearts. We hope to facilitate adoptions of dogs and cats to both individuals and rescues. Dogs and cats have been rehomed in the past to the UK, France, Germany and the Netherlands. To help with resources, unexpected vets bills and the supply of good quality food and medicine, we are always on the look out for those supporters who wish to become a Virtual Adopter (VA) of a dog or cat in need. It is very rewarding to be a VA, especially when your dog/cat finally gets a new home, please consider joining us and sending your love to one of the dogs or cats in our ladies' care through your computer.
