Thank you to Niamh Salkeld - Plaid Cymru and her team, for coming to visit the Jones family today. There and Back Again CIC are very passionate about our families having their own voices, and we focus on helping to support positive links. The conversation was productive, and experiences were shared...the cake was amazing too 😊

Thank you to Welsh Government's research team for coming to meet with Our Voices today, so they could take part in the Future of Wales research. We asked that this was not online and the quick response from the team and arrangements made, showed a real understanding of engagement. A part of There and Back Again CIC's work is focused on inclusive practice and being a part of the wider work being carried out across Wales, and not always limited to work linked to ethnicity. We are all a part of Wales...and of course we went over the allocated time, but that's just who we are 😊

Today we met with Welsh Government to speak about the homelessness policies in Wales, and how local authorities policies push our families into systems designed for settled people in bricks and mortar. Our Voices member Ann spoke brilliantly as always, and is using her awful experience to push for positive change. We spoke about other families experiencing homelessness and how they can be part of the consultation process, and provide a wider picture of the realities our families experience of homelessness. We need our families meeting decison makers, representing themselves and ensuring they are aware of guidance and policies being written which affect them. There and Back Again CIC is passionate about ensuring there are opportunities for our families voices to be heard. Things have to change and that change can only come from families being central during all discussions.

There and Back Again CIC and Our Voices get to work with and alongside many other ethnic minority groups. We all support each other and by engaging with others we become stronger in our fight for equality ❤️

Cwmpas Conference 2026, learning about community housing, making new links and putting our families on people's radars. Our families need as many organisations as possible around them, if we are to see any real change. The more organisations speaking out with and for our families, the louder they become.

Thank you to TPAS Cymru who invited There and Back Again CIC to speak at their Engagement Best Practice Day. It was lovely to meet new people. A comment shared by a tenant was thay they had no idea about the discrimination our families face and they would be taking what they learnt back to the Valleys. We love this, this is what we need, for conversations to keep going. This can only be done when we have our Experts by Experience speaking, and our Ann does this brilliantly, and is an amazing young women. We know how difficult and uncomfortable this can be, and Ann is putting herself out there to change Wales and we cannot thank her enough.
