🔔🔔 Upton Parish Church bells will be ringing today in memory of Derek & Geraldine Price, who were life long bell ringers & long time residents of Upton 🔔🔔

Derek & Geraldine Price were highly skilled & well respected bell-ringers in Worcestershire & long time residents of Upton, many of you will probably have known them.

Today, from 10am, bell ringers who knew & rang with Derek & Geraldine, will be ringing a ‘full peal’ of the bells at St Peter & St Paul’s church.
A ‘full peal’ is the ‘gold standard’ & involves ringing a minimum of 5,000 unique, continuous sequences of mathematical permutations.
The performance typically takes about 3 hours & demands intense mental concentration, memorisation & physical stamina; hence, it is rarely attempted!

This is a fitting tribute to Derek & Geraldine, who will be fondly remembered by all who knew them throughout the ringing world.
