⚠️ Important Notice – Temporary Closure from 12pm today due to Extreme Weather ⚠️

Following the Met Office's extreme heat warning, with temperatures forecast to reach up to 36°C, Stepway and the LINK-The Community HUB have taken the decision to temporarily close our site from 12pm for the rest of today.

This decision has been made to protect the health, safety and wellbeing of our staff, volunteers and those who use our services. High temperatures can pose significant risks, particularly for vulnerable individuals, and we feel it is important to act responsibly during this period.

Although our premises will be closed, support will continue remotely, and our team will be working from home to ensure that people can still access advice and support.

📞 STEPWAY CIO For all enquiries and support, please contact our central telephone line: 0300 030 1231

📞 The LINK Community Hub For enquiries relating to the Hub, please contact: Paul Taylor – Hub Manager 07522 965645

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding. The safety and wellbeing of our community remains our priority, and we will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates regarding reopening.

Please take care during the hot weather, stay hydrated, avoid unnecessary exposure to the sun, and check in on family, friends and neighbours who may need additional support.

Thank you for your continued support.

🧡 EVERY MILE MATTERS – PLEASE GET BEHIND BREN! 🧡
We are incredibly proud to share that Bren, one of our wonderful STEPWAY volunteers and the son of a veteran, is taking on the Forest of Dean Ultra Marathon on 10th October to raise vital funds for STEPWAY.

This is Bren’s first ever fundraising run, and apparently he thought starting with something sensible would be far too easy! 😂

This challenge also carries a very personal meaning. Bren was Rob’s stepbrother. Rob served for ten years with the Royal Horse Artillery and sadly died in August 2025, aged just 35. Rob should be here to watch Bren cross that finish line, probably taking the mickey out of him every step of the way, but we know he will be very much in our hearts on the day.

Bren is putting himself through one huge challenge to help us continue supporting veterans and their families, so let’s show him just how many people are standing behind him.
Every donation, however small, matters. And if you cannot donate, please share. It costs absolutely nothing and could help this fundraiser reach so many more people.

Bren will do the hard miles. Let’s help make every single one of them count. 🧡

👉 Donate and support Bren here:

Come on Bren! The whole STEPWAY family is behind you. 🧡💚

Bren, son of a veteran and STEPWAY volunteer, is taking on the Forest of Dean Ultra Marathon. With a deeply personal connection to our Armed Forces Community, every mile he runs will help STEPWAY support veterans and their families.

🎨 Can You Help Our Veterans Keep Creating? 🎨

At STEPWAY, we are proud to work alongside Op COURAGE NHS by providing a free room so they can deliver one-to-one Art Therapy sessions for veterans.

We are seeing first-hand how art can help people process trauma, reduce anxiety, improve wellbeing and provide a healthy outlet for emotions. Many of those attending would love to continue their creative journey at home, but simply cannot afford the materials.

We are therefore asking for your help.

If you have any unwanted or unused art supplies tucked away, we would be incredibly grateful for your donation. We are hoping to create Art Therapy Gift Boxes for veterans so they can continue their therapeutic work between sessions.

We would be delighted to receive items such as:
🎨 Paints (acrylic, watercolour or oil)
🖌️ Brushes
📒 Sketchbooks
🖼️ Canvases
✏️ Pencils, charcoal and pastels
🖍️ Colouring pencils and pens
🎭 Craft materials and anything else that could inspire creativity.

Every donation, no matter how small, will make a real difference to someone who is rebuilding their wellbeing through creativity.

If you are local, we are happy to collect donations, or they can be dropped off at:

The LINK Community Hub
Off Hospital Lane
Powick
Worcester
WR2 4NH

Please feel free to share this post with your friends, family, local schools, artists and community groups. Together, we can help ensure no veteran has to stop their healing journey because they lack the tools to continue creating.

Thank you for your kindness and support. ❤️🇬🇧
