Do you recognise this view of Christ Church? This photograph was taken at 9pm on Sunday 19th April, when the sky was still light enough to see the pavements. That light in the sky above the tree was the crescent moon and the whole horizon to the West glowed red.

After the success of February’s quiz, we have started planning for a second round! Make sure you follow ‘The Friends’ to be among the first to find out when this will be held. 🍻🃏🍷

What a fantastic first ‘Friends’ pub quiz tonight, raising over five hundred pounds for future conservation and beautification of our village church and churchyard.

Thanks to The Bell for their generous discount and support and for donating a £50 voucher as first prize for the very popular raffle. Your whole team’s wonderful service this evening made for a wonderful atmosphere of happy diners, quizzers and drinkers.

Thanks to everyone who booked and brought a team along for being such good sports and so patient while we learned as we went along. The scoring would be done differently another time!

Thanks to all of our committee members for playing their part in the planning and Darcey for running the raffle.

And thanks to our former chairperson, turned quizmaster, Simon, who compiled a devilishly good ‘connections’ round and did a great job of announcing things.

🔔With eleven teams (and four who didn’t get in quick enough) and a rookie quizmaster, it should be an entertaining evening and we hope to make a tidy sum for future conservation projects to keep our village church standing for generations to come. ⛪️.

If you have already booked, paid and ordered your meals, please arrive in good time to get your drinks and take your seats in time to start at 7pm sharp and bring cash for our raffle. 💷🪙
