A little piece of Forthampton history…
I feel so lucky to be teaching at the beautiful Forthampton Village Hall — a building with a very special history of its own.
Built in 1837, the hall originally served as the village school, where generations of local children came to learn, grow and make memories. At its height, more than 100 children passed through its doors. The school eventually closed in 1931, and the building went on to become the much-loved village hall it is today and the road is still beautifully called School Lane.
There is something rather special about bringing children back into this historic building for lessons once again. Nearly 200 years after, it is still being used for what is was created for all those years ago: bring children together to learn, discover and grow. Although now, instead of school desks and books, you’ll find little ballet shoes, music, movement and lots of imagination. 🩰
It is a lovely new chapter in a very old story and the perfect place to start The Waldron Ballet School. 🤍
