Task Brasil Trust

Task Brasil Trust The relief of poverty and advancement of education of young persons in Brazil . The need is urgent as I am sure you are aware.

Task Brasil's work was given an enormous boost in 1997 with a very generous donation by Jimmy Page, the Led Zeppelin rock guitarist. Casa Jimmy has been a home for nearly 600 children, teenage mothers and their babies from the streets. We now run projects for kids aged 6 to 18 to have every opportunity to fulfill their potential & provide advice and support for our ex-residents and their families so that they live in harmony with their families away from the streets. Task Brasil has always relied on the assistance of trusts and other supporters to run and maintain its projects in Brazil, and this is especially true in the current economic climate. For this reason, we are writing to you today to ask that you contribute towards our COVID APPEAL. There are more than 12,000 people living in the neighbourhood surrounding our headquarters, Casa Jimmy, in Santa Teresa, Rio de Janeiro, as well as more than 29,000 people living in the next neighbourhood over

We celebrated Casa Jimmy’s 28th Anniversary & Children’s Day in Brazil!

What a joyful day with our children and their families! Lots of fun, games, and a special parents’ meeting with our technical team.

Everyone enjoyed a delicious brunch, we all sang Happy Birthday together, and the children received a sweet goody bag!

Families who attended the meeting with our technical team received a 10-item food parcel with essentials like rice, black beans, sugar, milk and more.

Casa Jimmy had been a place of care, dignity and joy for 28 years!

Support doesn’t have an expiration date! We stand by our beneficiaries.✨

A former resident of our Epsom College organic farm shelter (2005 -2009) reached out to us for help. He is currently unemployed and unable to afford food and gas for cooking.

To preserve his dignity during this difficult time, Task Brasil Trust supported him with a food parcel and a mini electric stove.

This child’s progress has been remarkable. When he joined Casa Jimmy in early 2026, he was shy and struggled to read basic Portuguese syllables. His handwriting was also still in the scribbling stage. Even then, it was clear how intelligent he was — especially in maths, where he solved problems very well for his level.
It’s wonderful to see how much he has grown.

William Pretyman returned to Casa Jimmy with Lady Charlotte in July 2026. It was a very special moment to welcome him back.

William first visited Casa Jimmy in the early 2000s with Lady Charlotte, who was a Task Brasil trustee at the time.

During the pandemic, William published a book about his family and their historic home, Orwell Park, where his father was raided and lived.

Orwell Park later became a traditional English boarding school. By a wonderful coincidence, Orwell Park School sponsored Task Brasil Trust’s very first two beneficiaries, who spent 3 school terms there in 1995-1996.

Through his book, William has continued to support Casa Jimmy, generously encouraging donations to the project.

On this recent visit, the children were delighted to present their activities at Casa Jimmy to William and Lady Charlotte.

We are all very grateful for William’s continued support and friendship over the years. 🇧🇷 🇬🇧

While in Rio, Lady Charlotte volunteered at Casa Jimmy — running English games, coaching on the sports court, helping in the kitchen and serving meals.
Lady Charlotte was also one of our very first trustees at Task Brasil Trust, serving for over 10 years and set up our US sister charity, still helping funding projects at Casa Jimmy.
Obrigado, Lady Charlotte, for building this with us and for decades of impact! 🇧🇷🇬🇧🇺🇸
