An international association of Mahayana Buddhist meditation centres that follow the Kadampa Buddhism

This is the official page for the New Kadampa Tradition ~ International Kadampa Buddhist Union (NKT ~ IKBU. NKT ~ IKBU is an international association of Buddhist meditation centers that follow the pure tradition of Mahayana Buddhism derived from the Buddhist meditators and scholars Atisha and Je Tsongkhapa and introduced into the West by the Buddhist Teacher Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche. It was founded in 1991 by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche to provide a vehicle for promoting Kadampa Buddhism throughout the world. There are currently 1100 NKT~IKBU centers in over forty countries. The New Kadampa Tradition is an entirely independent Buddhist tradition and the NKT ~ IKBU has no political affiliations

The NKT ~ IKBU is an international nonprofit organization registered in England as a charitable company.

Following the Fall Festival in Malaga, Kadampas gathered at KMC Madrid La Sierra and Madhyamaka KMC for special retreats filled with inspiring teachings, meditation, and the joy of practicing Dharma together. Whilst at KMC Granada they celebrated Je Tsongkhapa Day.

After this year’s International Fall Festival, Kadampa centers across Europe held post-festival retreats to carry its inspiration into daily life. At KMC Alicante, Kailash IRC and KMC Toulouse, participants enjoyed clear teachings, peaceful stillness and warm Sangha connections. They left grateful for Geshe Kelsang Gyatso’s kindness.

A precious opportunity to witness the compassionate vision of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche becoming a reality at the future Kadampa Meditation Center Granada.

Through Gen-la Kelsang Dekyong’s inspiring words and the remarkable transformation of this historic convent, visitors gained a deeper appreciation of the extraordinary kindness of Venerable Geshe-la in creating places where Kadam Dharma can flourish and benefit people for generations to come.

Every International Festival concludes with retreat and it is incredibly powerful to meditate in the collective stillness and concentration of a thousand people and in such a blessed setting. Gen Lochani guides a beautiful retreat, clearly structured to give everyone time to deepen their faith and engage in the requests contained within the Migtsema prayer according to Highest Yoga Ta**ra.
