Project Update On The New Community Building...

We have been absolutely blown away with the support you've all shown in volunteering your time to help us create the cassettes for the new building.

When we began this project it was all about community - a new community building, in our beautiful community park, built by the communiity, for the community - and volunteers have shown up every day to help with the build, and we can't thank you enough.

Now this part is complete, we have handed over to the professionals for the construction, and thank you to each and every one of you for all your hard work and for leaving your mark on this building that will be here for our community for many years to come.

What a difference three weeks can make! There's been so much happening at Ford Park, and it's been amazing to see our community come together to help bring our new community building to life.

From local businesses, clubs, groups, friends, families and people simply dropping in to lend a hand, we've welcomed an incredible range of volunteers from all over.

Every person who has given their time, energy and enthusiasm has helped move this project forward, and we're so grateful to everyone who's been involved.
And because of you all, the building itself is really starting to take shape!

The cassettes that form the walls have been assembled, and these are now being erected to create the framework of the building. Seeing the structure begin to emerge is a really exciting milestone and makes everything we've been working towards feel that little bit more real.

But this project is about so much more than tithe build. It's about people, community spirit and creating a space that will bring people together for years to come. And watching our community work alongside one another, sharing skills, getting stuck in and leaving their mark on the building, has been absolutely fantastic.

There's still plenty to do, and we'll be sharing more updates as the build progresses. In the meantime, a huge thank you to every volunteer, business, club and community group that's played a part so far.

This is what community looks like, and we're only just getting started! 💚

Looking for something to do with the children this half term that doesn't cost a fortune?

Come along to Ford Park from Monday 26th to Friday 30th October for a little bit of Halloween fun, fresh air and outdoor adventure.

The park is a great place to spend a few hours together during the holidays - and this half term, we're adding a few spooky surprises along the way.

🕷Dare to enter the Fernery… if you're brave enough
🛝Let the children burn off some energy in the playground
🌳Take a walk along the Zig Zag Path

Come and make some half-term memories.

Half term fun can be as simple as getting everyone out of the house, pulling on their wellies, finding something fun to do and enjoying some time together.

So dress for our lovely Cumbrian weather and come and get a little bit spooky with us at Ford Park this half term.

A huge thank you to our local MP, Michelle Scrogham, for joining us at Ford Park last week and getting stuck in by helping assemble one of the cassettes that will form part of our new community room!

It's been absolutely wonderful to see so many people from across our community coming along, lending a hand and leaving their mark on this exciting project.

From local businesses and community groups to individuals, friends and our amazing volunteers, everyone is helping bring this vision to life. And it's lovely to see our local MP getting involved too!

⚠️ Important Parking Update – Wednesday 28th October

Please be aware that there will be no on-site parking available at Ford Park this Wednesday.

With construction work taking place in the car park and the field too wet to use for parking, there will be no parking available on site.

This is particularly important for anyone planning to visit Ford Park on Wednesday, for the auction is taking place in the Williams Room. Those registered to attend the auction have already been notified.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation while the community room build is taking place.

💚 So much love is going into our Community Room build!

It’s lovely to see our volunteers leaving their mark on the cassettes that will form the walls of our new Community Room. A little piece of our community, quite literally, going into the build! 🛠️

And there’s still time for you to be part of it!

Pop down to Ford Park, weekdays between 10am and 3pm, lend a hand and help us build something special for our community. Every pair of hands makes a difference! 💚

Some of our crafty volunteers have been busy making reusable fabric bags for our Christmas Meet Santa event.

They're doing an amazing job but would love a few extra pairs of hands. So, if you have a sewing machine and can spare a couple of hours to make some simple bags for us, we'd love to hear from you.

Drop us a message with your details and we can pass them on to our super sewers.

Doations of fabric would also be appreciated. Thank you 🙏
