Norfolk & Suffolk 4x4 Response - The Winter Poppyline 2026

We’re proud to be supporting this year’s Winter Poppyline, hosted by the Long Distance Walkers Association (LDWA). Our team is on the ground throughout the entire event, providing controller support and assisting with the safe collection of any retirees along the route.

The Winter Poppyline is no small challenge — a tough 50‑mile trek through winter conditions, taking participants around 22.5 hours to complete.

The Winter Poppyline has started - great views over Sheringham from Beeston Bump Mountain.

We're thrilled to see Victoria Morris, veteran of ten LDWA Hundreds, in 5th place in the women's race in the Montane Winter Spine Race. Snow and wind have seen high-profile retirements but Victoria (pictured on our 2024 Hundred) is battling through. She's runner number 202 on the tracker: https://live.opentracking.co.uk/spinerace26/

The three-part film of the LDWA's flagship event for 2025 goes live on YouTube tonight - you can click on the link already. The aim was to celebrate the Flower of Suffolk 100 - and the wonderful landscape in past through.

This is the LDWA at its best: superb organisation, wonderful volunteers, and some amazing participants. The end is really quite moving. We have managed to feature a lot of runners and walkers, but by no means all: if we didn't catch you, it's probably because you're not from Northumbria.

Part one of the film is now live with the rest on Monday 1 December and Tuesday 2 December. You can click on the link now so it's ready to go...

Many thanks to Simon Pipe and David Morgan for their hard work on this!
