Trimdon Brass

Trimdon Brass Trimdon Brass is a friendly, motivated contesting and concert band, currently in the 3rd section.

Trimdon Brass began life as the Thornley Colliery Band in 1870 and under this guise were founder members of the Durham Brass Band League. The band relocated to Trimdon in the early 1990s, a move that brought the band closer to its player base and has resulted in strong links being forged throughout the wider East Durham area. We have a flexible approach to membership and welcome players of varying

abilities. We are also able to loan instruments free of charge if you do not have your own. For those looking to book the band, with a library of over 2000 pieces, we can offer a wide and varied musical programme to suit most occasions, ranging from hymns, to traditional marches and overtures to more modern pop tunes. Please contact us to discuss your requirements in more detail or check out our website www.trimdonbrass.com

On Saturday our Youth and Community band were honoured and privileged to be invited to play alongside Easington Colliery Brass Band in Durham Cathedral.

Over the past three days Easington have been playing in the local community in commemoration of the 75th Anniversary of the Easington Colliery Pit Disaster which claimed 83 Men - 81 Miners and 2 Rescue Workers.

For some of our members it was their first ever concert - what a special occasion and venue for everyone. Well done!

What a beautiful day at The Story Durham for the Durham County Brass Band Association Picnic in the Park contest.

Well done to Felling Band on winning the contest, and thanks to the organisers for a great day.

We were literally over the moon 🌙 to take the best 3rd section prize with our programme based on the moon!

Thanks to our Musical Director Andrew Hall for the preparation of a really enjoyable programme.

Well done to the band and especially to Hannah Wicks who played a beautiful solo Rusalka - Song to the Moon.

Thanks so much to our deps Joanna and Nic. We are very grateful for your support.

On Saturday the band were delighted to support an event organised by Lisa our Chairperson which thanked Poppy appeal volunteers from around the region for their support.
It was lovely to see so many people there, and to meet Vera who will receive her MBE later this month for over 80 years service as a volunteer - Amazing!
