Trimdon Brass

Trimdon Brass Trimdon Brass is a friendly, motivated contesting and concert band, currently in the 3rd section.

Trimdon Brass began life as the Thornley Colliery Band in 1870 and under this guise were founder members of the Durham Brass Band League. The band relocated to Trimdon in the early 1990s, a move that brought the band closer to its player base and has resulted in strong links being forged throughout the wider East Durham area. We have a flexible approach to membership and welcome players of varying

abilities. We are also able to loan instruments free of charge if you do not have your own. For those looking to book the band, with a library of over 2000 pieces, we can offer a wide and varied musical programme to suit most occasions, ranging from hymns, to traditional marches and overtures to more modern pop tunes. Please contact us to discuss your requirements in more detail or check out our website www.trimdonbrass.com

If you missed this tonight find time to watch on BBC iPlayer.

It’s great to see some local heritage and such an important topic covered nationally.

Well done Peter and Easington Colliery Brass Band.

Thank you again from our Youth and Community Band for the opportunity to play alongside pupils from The Academy at Shotton Hall and Easington Academy.

We look forward to meeting the future bass trombone player Daniel Robson!

'To be actually in Durham Cathedral in this amazingly special place, and hear this brass band echoing right up to the ceiling... I'll never forget it for the rest of my life' 🗨️

A comment from an audience member hearing Easington Colliery Brass Band perform a special concert at the cathedral in May, to mark the 75th anniversary of the Easington Colliery disaster

The BBC followed the band getting ready for the concert and celebrated the band secretary, Peter, for his 56 years being part of the band 👏

This weekend Trimdon Brass proudly paraded the Trimdon Colliery Banner around the village and then into Durham for the “Big Meeting”.
We could not do this without the support and commitment from our players, the Trimdon Colliery Banner Group and the community of Trimdon.
To ensure the future of the band, we are committed to the development of youth brass players and adults who wish to learn to play or get back into playing after a break away.
Trimdon Youth and Community Band get together every Sunday at 3.45pm to 4.45pm where we can offer tuition to new starters and group playing for the more advanced players.
If you would like to know more, then pop along to see us on a Sunday or get in touch through our email or page.

Well done to our Youth and Community band player Daisy and her friend Lucy. Great to see this.

(We think your T-shirt colour is brilliant! 😉)

On Friday, two students from Wellfield School represented Durham Music Service at Beamish, The Living Museum of the North, in a rare opportunity to perform in the Mini Miners Gala.
What an amazing experience! We are so proud of you! Well Done!
