Trimdon Brass is a friendly, motivated contesting and concert band, currently in the 3rd section.

Trimdon Brass began life as the Thornley Colliery Band in 1870 and under this guise were founder members of the Durham Brass Band League. The band relocated to Trimdon in the early 1990s, a move that brought the band closer to its player base and has resulted in strong links being forged throughout the wider East Durham area. We have a flexible approach to membership and welcome players of varying abilities. We are also able to loan instruments free of charge if you do not have your own. For those looking to book the band, with a library of over 2000 pieces, we can offer a wide and varied musical programme to suit most occasions, ranging from hymns, to traditional marches and overtures to more modern pop tunes. Well done to radio stars Daisy and Harriet from our Youth and Community band who spoke to Gary Philipson at BBC Radio Tees this morning.

Amazing interview skills girls!

They talked about what it’s like to be part of a band as well as what’s been going on recently.

They also gave a big shout out to Easington Colliery Brass Band’s concert at the fire station on November 8th as they are playing a few of the pieces they’ve been working on. (Still a few tickets left!).

We’ve had another brilliant day at Stanley Brass Band Entertainment Contest with our Youth and Community band.

We are overjoyed to have won best Youth and best Training band!

It is also encouraging to see the remarks about the difference in our playing since this time last year. We’ve worked hard in the band room and really appreciate the comments from the adjudicators.

Our horn player Harriet was proud to collect the trophies… they’re almost as big as her!

Well done to all players, who each receive a medal, Nic and Isobel for conducting today and thanks as always to everyone who supports us at Trimdon. 👏 👏 👏

There were some really entertaining performances from bands today, with both Spennymoor and Ellington also playing some great programmes with their youth bands.

Well done to Ellington for their overall win with the senior band. 🏆

Everyone at Trimdon Brass would like to wish all bands the very best of luck at the national finals at the Royal Albert Hall. A special mention to our friends playing in NASUWT Riverside Band and The EverReady Band. A proud moment for Nic Tempest-Hall MD to our Youth and Community band, as she fulfils her ambition playing today in the venue.

Back in Seaham for Brass on the Grass. It was a lovely afternoon last year. Bring your chairs, blankets, picnics and enjoy the peaceful surroundings for our summer concert.
