Another week and another amazing meeting with the LBF family! Tonight was a great meeting full of laughs and positivity from the group, and some reflection on what has went well during the last week and what we are doing to be better. Everyone continues to show how far they have come 💝

And lastly but by no means the least a special thank you to our LBF member Chloe for taking the time to make a lovely lasagne that was thoroughly enjoyed by the group, not a piece was left 🤣

Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend and as always everyone is welcome to our meetings whether its mental health struggles, addiction or grief, our doors are always open.

Chris Blacks Wing Walk Challenge!

Its not long now before Chris takes on the wing walk, where he will be strapped to the outside of a plane doing some loopy loops! Raising funds for the LBF in order to continue its work towards helping the community and those in need. Thanks to challenges like this, the LBF is able to do things like sponsor local school football tournaments as seen recently, buy resources for the community allotment, donate to families in need, run events to help addicts stay sober and so much more!

We are not just like minded friends here at the LBF we are more than that, we are a Family and will always have each others backs and best interests at heart. This is all about loving each other and giving back, takers are not welcome here, that time has passed, we are all about giving, our time, energy and love, for those who are trying to better themselves.

The Lee Black Foundation has become the sponsor for our local schools tournament "The Lee Black Foundation Cup" helping them with funds for medals and trophies, to highlight the hard work of the kids playing some good football! ⚽️🥅

We are proud of all the kids that took part and we would like to give a special shout out to the winners of each year group!

Year 7 Winners > Easington Academy
Year 8 Winners > Shotton Hall Academy
Year 9 Winners > Wellfield Academy

We would like to give a huge thanks to Wellfield Academy for hosting the football tournament, and a special thanks to Al Wilkinson for helping the Lee Black Foundation liaison with Wellfied Academy to make this happen.

Due to the success of the tournament we will be looking to make this a regular event every year, with possible talks of having the event take place multiple times throughout the year, which will be decided moving forward by the schools.

The Lee Black Foundation is a proud sponsor of events like this as it helps bring our community together, and helps promote activities that our kids are passionate about, we hope to see this event grow from strength to strength moving forward as more people become aware of it. The teams enjoyed themselves and thats what its all about, the kids having fun playing a sport they love! ❤️

Tonights meeting was a special one, on the last Thursday of each month a group member who has put their name forward shares their story in a Deep Dive into their life, as far back as they are comfortable with and as much as they wish to share. Tonight we did Tracy's Deep Dive, which was pushed back 1 week to allow the members she wanted their to be present.

Thank you Tracy for sharing your life with us and speaking through your story confidently and with courage. Very brave, we love you Tracy, you have become a foundation within our foundation and we couldn't imagine the LBF journey without you.
