Football East Lothian

Football East Lothian Football East Lothian is one of eight sports covered by The Sports Development Team at East Lothian Council.

The other target sports are: badminton, basketball, disability sport, golf, gymnastics, hockey and rugby. The Sports Development Team was established in 1996 when East Lothian Council took the bold and visionary step of publishing its Sports Development Strategy. The strategy clearly set out how East Lothian Council would develop and promote sport across a number of services. Pivotal to the delive

ry of the strategy was the establishment of a sports specific development team under the guidance of a principal officer of sports development. 15 years later and the Sports Development Team continues to be amongst the standard bearers in Scottish Sport. The team have contributed to the formulation of the Healthy Living Service's strategic plan, Active East Lothian, and the team's impact on individual and team performances can clearly be seen in the report on East Lothian District Squad Success.
