We love seeing what the Lunch Club kids are getting up to 👇
Thanks to our funding we can make a difference for so many families during the school holidays

🌟 What a fantastic week our Lunch Clubs have had so far! 🌟

This week has been packed full of fun, friendship and exciting experiences for everyone involved in both PSG and Fa’side Lunch Clubs. Our children are enjoying a fantastic range of activities including sports sessions, creative arts and crafts, cinema trips, outdoor play and much more. ⚽🎨🎬

Alongside all the fun, we’ve been serving up plenty of delicious and nutritious meals and snacks. 🍝🍉

We also were delighted to welcome some of our partners into our provisions, including visits from the Fire Service 🚒, helping to provide engaging and learning experiences for our young people.

A massive thank you to PSG Area Partnership, Fa’side Area Partnership and Cash for Kids for their generous support. Your contribution helps make these opportunities possible and allows us to provide opportunities, healthy meals and lasting memories for local children and families. ❤️

What to expect:
Our Play Rangers provide a friendly, welcoming atmosphere for all children to play. Activities include loose parts play, hammocks and art materials. Everyone is welcome!

Important information:
Children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult.
Older children are welcome to attend and are free to leave independently.

It's Scotland's Climate Week this week.

Have you heard of the National Emergency Briefing on Climate & Nature?

In 2025, the National Emergency Briefing (TNEB) brought together UK climate and nature experts to set the facts straight about the climate and biodiversity crises. It cut through misinformation to give an unbiased account of how changes to the environment will impact everyday lives. The companion film, the People's Emergency Briefing, makes the discussed topics - national security, food and water supplies, human health, extreme weather, and more - accessible for all.

Want to be even more involved this Climate Week? The East Lothian Climate Hub are champions of community action hosting a number of interesting events. Here are some of our favourites:

• Climate Action, Strategy & Empowerment Workshop. This workshop serves as great introduction to the Climate Hub for the climate curious. While developing their five-year strategy, the Climate Hub is seeking as much community input as they can get. Head along to the Longniddry Community Centre on Thursday 1 October 6.30-9pm if you have climate-related questions, ideas, or just want to be part of the conversation!

• Edinburgh Conservation Film Festival. Held at the Fraser Centre, Tranent, on Wednesday 7 October, 7-9pm, this ELCAN hosted event is an incredible opportunity to catch eight short inspiring films about nature, particularly if you missed the film festival's first showing back in April at the National Museum of Scotland. Tickets are available for purchase through the Fraser Centre's booking portal.
