What a generous bunch our members are! Just look at the donations they have provided for the women’s homeless charities at the Hope Centre and Women s Refuge in Northampton.
We are collecting again next month too.

We spent a lovely evening listening to Becky from Pink Welly Posies flower farm at our September meeting.
It was good to hear her journey into the flower trade and her passion for sustainability.
Becky then made a beautiful posy out of all the beautiful flowers she had brought from her farm.

Don’t forget that to support our new WI Campaign on Women’s Homelessness we are asking members to donate items to the Hope Centre Charity in September.

Members enjoyed a lovely evening at Saxby’s Cider yesterday. The evening began with a welcome champagne style cider drink with our picnic

This was followed by a ride on the tractor trailer to view the apple trees in the orchard and then an inspection of the kit that turns the apples into cider.

Finally we tried further samples of different ciders before retiring to the shop where members busied themselves in purchasing cider to take home.

So our journey home on the minibus was accompanied by the rattle of many bottles - some destined for Christmas presents!

Many thanks to Amanda and Philip at Saxby's Cider for providing such an enjoyable evening.

Here is an idea to help the homeless as part of our current resoluition. This is homeless charity based near Bedford.

They aim to empower people to overcome homelessness and equip them with valuable skills, training and work experience to achieve their goals towards independence.

The site has a Home Store, Boutique, Bric a Brac shop and a Bistro - so a visit provides plenty of opportunites for browsing and buying with a stop at the Bistro for refreshments.
