Taunton Art Group is all about our members. As a group we continue to grow and develop, enthusing our members with exciting speakers, workshops and a friendly, artistic environment in which to develop their talent. The Taunton Art Group (TAG) is open to everyone whether you are new to art or an established artist. We welcome all abilities.

Founded in 1996, Taunton Art Group (TAG) holds monthly indoor meetings on the 4th Wednesday of the month from September to May/June, where experienced/professional artists demonstrate their techniques and talk about their art. We cover a wide range of visual mediums including watercolour, oil, pastel, acrylic & mixed media.

Monthly meetings are free to members, and visitors are welcome for a £5 fee, payable on the door of the Comeytrowe Community Centre, Pitts Close, Galmington, Taunton, TA1 4TY. New members are always welcome, £30 annual fee, or £10 for 18 and under. To join, please email us at [email protected]. We also run Saturday workshops; workshops can be booked & need to paid for in advance with the workshop organisers (£25 members, £35 non members) and run from 10:00 to 14:00 at the Comeytrowe Community Hall. We had a fabulous Demonstration from Jackie Curtis, a printmaker based on the Somerset Levels, who uses the natural elements around her to make beautiful mono prints.

Last weekend we enjoyed a fabulous workshop, with Claire Western Artist, exploring collage.
Making papers with acrylic, sponges and stencils, then putting everything together to create some beautiful, bright and colourful still life paintings.

Thank you Claire for a thoroughly enjoyable day.

We will bring all our colourful creations along to the next TAG Demonstration evening which is on Wednesday 28th October, to share with you all.

Join us tomorrow evening 29 July for our last demonstration before we break for summer. We're delighted to welcome Claire Western along to show us her vibrant and colourful approach to still life. We meet at the Comeytrowe Community Centre Taunton and Doors open at 7pm ready for a 7.30pm start. Visitors are welcome for a £5 entry fee - members are free. We look forward to seeing you tomorrow

A huge Thankyou to all the Committee members, volunteers, exhibitors and TAG members who came along yesterday to support our Pop Up art exhibition at the Somerset Museum. We had lots of interest in memberships, Workshops and sales
We'll be doing it all again next Saturday 11th July at Trull's Party in the Park which is held on the playing fields behind the Memorial Hall. Please come along and support us one again - we're there from 2 - 4pm. For further information please email [email protected]

We're delighted that the Taunton Urban sketching group will be joining us tomorrow (Saturday 4th July) for the TAG Pop Up art exhibition at Taunton Museum courtyard. Exhibitors should bring your paintings along at 9.30am - clearly labelled - ready for a 10am start. We'll pack up at 4pm. If you'd like to come along and paint or sketch- that would be lovely. Our next demonstration is on Wednesday 29 April when we're delighted to welcome professional print maker Lisa Takahashi to our group. Lisa will be demonstrating the use of woodcut to create expressive pictures- it's going to be a fabulous evening! We meet at the Comeytrowe Community Hall Pitts Close Taunton and doors open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start. Visitors are welcome to attend for a minimal fee of £5 - members are free.
