🎨Art For Life are back with an incredible new display showcasing some fantastic local artists.
🖼'The Wall', which stretches from Concourse to the Duchess building is currently hosting works from Patrick Bremer, Gina May Selene, and Angus Selene.
👨🎨Patrick's exhibition consists of vibrant collages that draw on the visual languages from fashion, graphic design, and popular culture, and reflect the zeitgeist whilst hinting at shared memories and private histories.
👩🎨Gina May Selene chose to exhibit her embroidery, which explore her own largely silent journey through violence, loss, grief and, ultimately, survival, and are accompanied by masks and figures representing the Goddess. These archetypal characters are peaceful reminders of the power of nature underpinning the gentle magic of women.
👨🎨Angus Selene's work combines lifelong interests in islands, narrative, and magic with themes retrieved from a long academic career. This particular exhibition 'A is for Island takes soe influence from the work of Swiss psychiatrist Eugen Bleuler, who coined the term 'Autism' to refer to patients that lived as 'islands', away from social norms.
We have the pleasure of housing these stunning pieces until September, so be sure to stop and admire their work, their skill, and their stories on your next visit to Musgrove 💚
